SGH-i600 drops Vista synchronisation

My i600 was happily syncing with Outlook, etc..... then it just stopped!  Connecting/disconnecting USB makes phone screen light up, so something is happening.  But phone is not recognized or even visible on PC.

Assistance appreciated, thanks!
