For all of you that long for the popup notification when you recive a new sms on your WM6 Standard phone like you get with WM6 Professional then try this freeware app, it is in Beta stage at the moment but works fine on my Vox.

It takes up the lower half of the screen with a bubble, left soft key allows you to Save Read and the right soft key allows you to Dismiss, Reply or Delete. It works nicely. Tell your friend, excellent work. Hopefully it moves out of beta and he can get the thanks he deserves. Would you/he mind if this was posted over on xda-dev in the Vox forum too? I know many there who would love this.

I'll be interested to see how well this goes down. A few of us with Kaiser's tried it, and it seemed to be VERY memory hungry, and made the handset sluggish.

It was good to get delivery reports, and also with the persons name inserted ... but not at the cost of a sloooooow phone.

It pops up only for delivery report and not for regulary SMS, and it is very useful!

What to do to get a popup messege for a recived new SMS?

No, it creates a popup for a new SMS. I am using it right now and it works nicely. Go into SMSDRFix Settings and check mark "Show Bubbles", set the other options to what you desire. I initially saw sluggish immediately after installing, however a soft reset, enable the application and soft reset again cleared it all up and there is really no performance difference.

There are a few suggestions I have for the functionality of it, just little quirks I found if you want to pass them along perhaps? When hitting soft key and selecting Reply, the message in the bubble isn't marked as Read within the Inbox, and the left soft key option doesn't have a space between the words, could be a character limitation though, so no big deal.

Over all, excellent and this goes into my "immediately install" folder.

I have already suggested that it would be nice to have the inbox message marked as read when you have replied via the bubble message.

I had not noticed this on my Vox.

Also, perhaps if it's possible for the center d-pad button to Reply to the message, would make it a lot more useful. Then we wouldn't have to search through right soft-key menu to hit Reply. I think it makes the most sense if the left soft-key is marked Dismiss and does the same this as it currently does, the center d-pad will Reply and the right soft-key will open the menu with View and Delete.

I tried this and this is buggy

I could not type when replying to an sms after a popup

I had to close the messaging app from the task manager and start again to reply :)

This could be an amazing app! I completely agree with hawaii in how the softkeys should be set up. Also, I searched on xda-developers but couldnt find a thread on this app, only a mention of it in another thread. Would anyone like to start it in the general smartphone category? I assume this works for all smartphones? I am running it on my tornado/cingular 2125 and it seems to work alright, although I have had some issues with it seeming to be rather resource-hungry as well as when it gets activated, my home button no longer works-which is preventing me from using this program until that is fixed. Also the same previously mentioned issue with the replying via bubble/text still Unread.

Another thing- The .cab file you posted is different than the one listed on the saman website. I assume yours is newer due to the extended options and version. So I was just wondering if saman is still continuing work on this and if so, is there a newer website?

Another possible request would be to allow us to edit/personalize the bubble color, font, text color.....

I don't think the one on his website is ported for SP, just a PPC release and what's posted here seems to be a beta only. I have no performance issues on my Vox, not buggy at all for me either.

Could be some issues with ROMS, I am using New Guava 0.5 and it also worked with 0.2.2

Another useful feature is when driving (we know we shouldn't but we do!!) when you get a text your thumbing around trying to read it, now no need message comes up on screen. Hit the save button and its gone.

Hi guys,

i'm the author of this app. I'm not happy that this version came to public. Rolandhurt01 did it without my permission. I've wanted to keep that in close group of people until it will be ready. I've planned to release it, with web pages backgroud, which is not ready yet.

If i would wanted to release it, i will do it alone and on the xda-developers forum, what i read much more. I don't want to have several discussion forums about it. Have no time to read that.

Please, DON'T SPREAD THIS. The app will change its name.

Rolandhurt01, you are such an asshole!!!!!

Some moderator, please, delete cab attachment and shut this topic.

Hi saman-cz, I can understand you being aggrieved at the situation and RolandHurt should have sought your permission first but I believe he was acting in good faith and was not fully aware of Internet Protocol in sharing a rather good app., this happens as you well know. To resort to this type of language is hurtful, unnecessary and as an author you should know better...Regards..looby :)

I agree with Looby no issue with you being annoyed at your hardwork getting out before you choose or this topic being closed etc, but there no need to be abusive.

Well, I won't be spreading it but I can tell you I have seen it pop up 3 other forums already that are completely unrelated to xda and here.

I do hope that no bad taste is left in your mouth from us too, this is an excellent application as you can garnish from the earlier responses.

All i can say: uncontrolled spreading untested application is bad for me.. I've already have a new version, with a lot of fixes, but for public it will be available just when i update my website.. If some is interested to test it, then send me an email request.

Btw: I've read about your problems with "blocked keyboard" after using Reply menu option. It works ok on my S730 and also in emulators. I launch compose form using standard API and app doesn't interact with keyboard in any way. So i can't guess what happens.

Hopefully, most of us will agree with you and all we would like to do is help you to better the excellent software you've already made. I would have no problem and would greatly enjoy to beta test the newer version you have working.
