soundblaster

Right, this is seriously off topic but here goes...

I have a soundblaster 5.1 live soundcard with inspire 5300 speakers. I have connected my tv to the soundcard to have the sound outputted through the more powerful inspire speakers.

At the moment the problem is that the sound only comes out of the front two speakers and not out of the rear speakers too.

Anyone got any ideas how to make the rear speakers work when using line in???

Cheers

Amo

Obvious there are only two outputs (L & R) from the TV so you need to find a phono splitter from some electronics shop. It won't be surround sound but you'll have all the speakers churning out sound.

Nah, got it working now. Theres an option in the software. Basically u change the recording method to "What you hear" and this enables all four speakers (obviously the centre speaker wont play sound as the source isnt in 5.1). I didnt really see where you were going with the splitter thing anyway as my phone leads have 2 phonos to 2 phonos anyway.

Nice one. A much easier and cheaper way than mine. I was talking about putting the tv audio output directly into the 5300 speakers, not through the soundcard, using a splitter so you'd have the same signal going into each of the front and back jack sockets. Sorry didn't explain myself well there.

Ahh got ya, well i had the output of the tv going into my mixer i use with my decks, then the decks go into my soundcard directly, didnt even think of directly going to the speakers
