Hello All,

I am a longtime Blackberry User, and I am still happy with my Blackberry :D , I found this website on Pinstack. Thank GOD!

I can not get my Wifes T-Mobile Wing to sync with my PC, I am going to post some details later on what exactly I am having problems with. Hopefully somebody already asked my question. I am going to dig into this a little later and really happy there is a forum like this for Windows Mobile Platform. Last time I tried to sync her phone was about 6 months ago, then I just gave up. It was nothing like a palm or blackberry where the process is pretty easy. For some reason my computer won't recognize her Wing.

I couldn't find the specific section for the t-mobile wing, the closest one I did find was the HTC Wings, but it had a different type of phone in the photo...so I posted here.

Again I will reply to this thread with any questions and wanted to also say thanks to all in advance for helping me with this.

Welcome to the site :D

Presumably you have Activesync installed as you need this to sync with the pc. Activesync will be on the cd that came with the device. One thing also to check is your firewall settings.

The reason you couldn't find your phone is because it's actually an HTC Atlas which T-Mobile call the Wing which is completely different from the HTC Wings - confusing huh?

the forum for the Atlas is here.

It is a WM Professional phone (ie Touchscreen, otherwise known as a PPC rather than a SmartPhone.)

WM devices are by far the easiest phones I have ever used to Sync with the PC. What OS are you using? If XP or lower then you need ActiveSync 4.5 (I'd download off the internet to ensure you have the latest version) - if you have Vista it comes with WMDC which works instead of ActiveSync. Do you have Outlook (not outlook Express)?

What errors are you getting? You should just plug your phone in using the supplied cable and it should be recognised.

PS- As I was typing this Ash added his second reply and moved the thread to the correct forum!

I will try probably tomorrow, we are working opposite schedules. Her phone is a great phone, but the only thing I don't like about it that it doesn't multitask that well. It is good for her, for me personally, Blackberry's are my cup of coffee :o

She has her Wing right now so hopefully tomorrow I can get ahold of it. She has WM 6.1 on it currently.

Thankyou to both of you for your fast responses :(

Surprised you think it doesn't multitask well! I love WM devices for the range of software and I have my own Exchange server so controle my own Push email - I couldn't do that with a Blackberry! lol. Each to his own though. Any further problems you know where to find us.

Good luck.

Okay, very sorry for digging up this old thread... I am finally trying to get my wife's Wing to sync.

I did a full reformat on my computer, and I reinstalled everything :D

So, It is kind of working except for syncing with Outlook. I have an error code: 0x8503001f

" cannot synchoronize with the Outlook profile you are using, because a different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected. Please open Outlook using the appropriate profile "

The only thing is I never synced it before, and I have a new profile and it is the only profile on the computer.

Please help :D
