Do you have Microsoft ActiveSync installed? You'll need this to connect your phone to your computer properly (so that other software will see it).

You can get ActiveSync from http://www.microsoft...ile/activesync/.

By the way, if you tried connecting your device to your computer before installing ActiveSync, and ActiveSync doesn't recognise your device, you'll probably have to uninstall the USB drivers for your smartphone and then try connecting to ActiveSync again.

If you have that problem, and you don't know how to properly (and safely) uninstall the smartphone's USB drivers, then post back here and I'll try to help you with that.

I hope this helps,
Michael

vista has syncing built in, no need for active sync.

With Vista you need Device Centre which available to download from MS.
