Many thanks for your reply.

I've never used the OpenNetCF before - just looking at their site and I guess I'll want the community edition?

The only samples I can find on their site are for C#, none for VB - I don't suppose you know of any decent tutorials on using OpenNetCF (esp the TAPI library) with VB.NET do you?

I'm still pretty new to .NET having only recently made the jump from VB6!  I know, my employers work on the basis of "if it ain't broke..."

Yeah, the community edition should do fine really.

I don't know of any examples in VB, you could either use an online converter for the examples to convert to VB.net or post here for help!

Its working with opennetcf tapi, but be aware that it wont work on every phone due to security
