SNES on SMT5800

Hey Ya'll,

I've been fighting all day (and some of yesterday) for a decent SNES emulator for my SMT5800. It's got a 400mhz Qualcom ARM processor and a bunch of RAM.

Needless to say, PocketSNES versions landed me with the 1.53 version being the only one that will launch a ROM. It runs okay, but the sound is terribly broken. It's not a framerate issue so much as the sound is constantly chopped no matter what title, or what settings.

I've also looked into Morphgear (no working build), Smartgear (no SNES), and every other build of PocketSNES I could find with no luck. Only the 1.5x series of PocketSNES would launch a ROM.

I know I must be asking for a lot for SNES emulation with sound on a device this small, but I'd love to know if anyone has SNES working on an SMT5800 or similar device.

Thanks!!!

Sorry, but HTC lied to us. The Qualcomm processor really isnt as great as everyone thought it would be. it lacks graphics drivers, so really a 200mhz Omap Processor is better.

The way I understand it, the processor is fine. But the lack of drivers make it less usable than it should be because the processor has to draw everything all in software instead of being hardware accelerated. I understand that the qualcomm processors as used in other devices are working just fine. Also, I had an excalibur(200Mhz OMAP) and now have a Kaiser(Qualcomm 400Mhz) and the Kaiser is still faster at emulating the SNES with PocketSNES than my old excalibur. To get full speed without sound on the OMAP, I had to OC it to above 250Mhz, but I can get full speed no sound on this Kaiser as is. IF we had the drivers, I think we could get full speed with sound on these devices. I'm waiting for the new Xperia device to come out. It will have the Qualcomm 528Mhz, but hopefully drivers will be included.

PS: And yes, HTC still lied to us.
