Tethering and data transfer rate

I was wondering if people with verizonwireless have noticed that the data transfer rate or speed of the connection when tethered is lower for some reason all the time now?

I was getting about 150k/b per second and now its down to 75k/b per second all the time.

If I use a website to test the connection its now 380kpbs and before it was 500kbps. Verizon customer support is s*** and the techies never give a straight answer. I think their lying their asses off and restricting the speed of the connection because so many people are using their phones to get online.
