Is there any way to put key lock on automatically when the screen goes to sleep? A few times when the phone was in my pocket the action key is pressed and I end up phoning random people :D...

Cheers

Yes. Start > Settings  > Buttons > Wake UP, tick box "When device is woken up, Lock device"

You can also lock the device by pressing and holding the "end" key.

There is a bug in the system,

if you specify a unlock PIN number and set an "delayed auto lock" the manual lock (end key) and "lock on wake up" no longer work.

This may have been fixed on the latest "Singapore" firmware.

I posted this also in the HH1 thread, but does this also work for you with the HH1 ROM? It worked for me with HG3, but after the upgrade it does NOT anymore... :D

Doesn't work for me on XXHG5 either
Or I'm pressing the wrong end key (End call key ?)

Have you got a lock code set?  If so it doesnt work properly.

You have to turn of the lock code for the end key to work like that.

What's the point in this device lock when it wakes up after a missed call? If you device is locked and in your briefcase (for example!), then you receive a call which you don't answer. From the moment that your phone is called it wakes up. You might then pick up your briefcase and something might touch your phone thus causing it to do something you don't want!

How are you guys getting around this?

Shin007, you're the man! That's what change for me from HG3 to HH1. Now I know what is driving it...

... but now the problem is that I cannot remove the code... it's imposed by my company when I synchronize with Exchange :D  :D  :angry:

Any nice workarounds for locking the screen somebody?

all you guys need is S2U2 from AC..

In S2U2 settings, choose
Lock when device wakes up -> On

Caller ID -> Full Screen
and if you want, use
Slide to Answer -> ON

And go to
Settings->Power->Battery Power
and choose Turn off device if device is not used for 1 minute.

If your phone rings your device wakes up but is "locked" (slide to answer will reduce the chances of you answering your phone without you actually answering it).  After the call is ended unanswered, your phone will go back to standby in 1  minute...

This is the best combination for me, been using it for the pass year in my old Wizard

Hi. New here and very happy with my i900 16gb. I have learnt a lot from this forum already. Thanks.

This program is just what I was looking for. It locks and sleeps automatically even after unanswered  calls, messages or emails or you bump you phone in your pocket etc. Slide to unlock is cool and full screen caller ID is nice as well. A real battery saver.

I've got HG5 and can confirm that when a PIN code is set to unlock (that is the device passcode you set for power on/lock after time period of no use) the device will not keypad lock from the "End" button when the device lock has a timeout set.

Either a software bug or a misconstrued "feature", up until discovering you could make it work by turning the timeout off I had to put the "lock" feature on my today screen (and hence couldn't use the Samsung widget either).

It would have been more understandable is soft-locking the keypad required a pin during the unlock, but that isn't the case, as passcode locking the device only kicks in after reboot or timeout.

Daz.

Just in case this helps someone...

As I have mandatory Lock (company Exchange policy), locking the device by pressing and holding the End Key does not work for me...  :(

I spent quite some time looking for an app that would allow me to lock the device without having to use the Device Lock Today Plugin (space is scarce if you use Samsung Today2), and tested a couple of apps, but none was giving me exactly what I wanted. Main reason for me to want to lock the device was for using it to listen to mp3s when it's in my pocket or so.

Well, I just found out that pressing the power button switches off the screen and locks all keys... but still plays my mp3... exactly what I wanted!  ;)

Probably everyone knows this already, but just in case there are more like me out there...  :wacko:

Good news!

DXHI1 solves at least the problem of locking the device with the hang-up key for the people having a (forced) device lock. Now this works again!

Worked for me too with GH3 and HH3... until I had a pin to lock my device automatically after 30 minutes... since then locking with the call-end was not working anymore, and the same was reported by a couple of other users. Do you have your device locked with a pin-code?
