I am trying to flash to the new HH3 ROM, but the downloader is falling over at the very start. As soon as I press start (having powered up the handset), I get a message saying cFile:Open failed

Any ideas?

I have installed the CDMA modem driver, I am running WIN XPSP2 and the cable is connected directly, not via a hub. I get the same result with HH1 incidentally. Current ROM is XXHG5.

Exactly the same problem here. DXHH1 went smoothly 48 hours ago, but with DXHH3 I also get th cfile.open falied.

Ideas anyone?

Well, for starters you might as well give DXHI1 a try now.

I'm having different problems with that one, but others say it's good.

Same error at first, but I retried having my firewall turned off and everything went fine. Thanks

It worked for me in the end - I should have updated my post, very remiss - Don't think I did anything special, just a reboot and it all worked.

Hi. I just tried reinstalling the official DXHG4 rom, and that is the same rom as was in the phone when i started. i used the rom and followed the instructions from here: http://www.samsungmo...sub02_Vista.jsp

After "copying file 3" i got error "Port create failed"
and on phone i see the Samsung OMNIA splash screen with a green "progress bar" across the bottom of the screen.
I haven't dared to reset the device or do anything yet, but i have tried to start another flash, and that doesen't work.

Update:

WOHOO.

I just pressed the soft-reset on the top and the phone restarted and booted up tu the "tap to calibrate screen". Before i got the time to calibrate it rebooted again to same screen.
Now, since i tried flashing from the same rom as i allready had, nothing's changed except from the fact that i will not try another update myself, unless i am convinced it's "safe"
