I have set me sky and BT Internet to automatically send and receive every 30 mins but Windows Live settings do not give me this option - canit be done any other way?

Hotmail probably has the ability to download your email to a POP3 client, so you could just set up a POP account on your handset and have it download every 30 mins. They might even support IMAP. I have no idea as I use gmail.

Not unless you pay - or, like me, started using POP3 for your hotmail a few years ago before they realised they could charge...

I've just downloaded Live Messenger 2009 (Beta) and it installs outlook connector so you can access your webmail through outlook....
