Hi Guys,

Not sure if anyone out there has experience the same problem.

I've checked my omnia version which is stated as HH3, & I'd downloaded the HJ1 updater program.

But when I run it, it's say i already have the latest firmware.

Any help would be much appreciated. My Omnia is a Singapore version btw.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Guys...

As i've stated here i flashed from DXHH3 (original) to DXHJ1, my impressions afters 2 weeks:

The baterry really get a improvement

The so called "better screen sensitivity" I disagree, I found it worst... <_<

Sometimes the accelerator turns off alone, so I have to go to setting and turn on again... but this is rare...

I will keep updating...

regards

Hello chaps,

First post here! And I'm afraid it's asking for help

I need to find these fabled Samsung CDMA modem driver thingies as that's the point in the installation it crashes. I've searched but I cannot find any for the Omnia i900....

Does it come on the CD or am I just being stupid...??

Upgraded from DXHH3 to HJ1 from samsung site (Singapore version) [i bought it on eBay from Hongkong and using it in Australia]

some of my observations:

1. Battery life has improved

2. Programs run faster

3. Touch sensitivity has improved (could be attributed to point#2)

3. Screen looks crisper - not 100% sure about this, could be just an illusion

Over all happy with the upgrade.

You dont need grand prix. :D

Firstly turn off all your Antivirus or Firewall software

1. Install activsync in your xp pc

2. Connect first time the Omnia to your pc (to be recognized by the pc for the first time and to install pda driver)

3. Disconnect the usb cable from your Omnia

4. Install modem driver Samsung for XP in your pc

5. Run the DXHJ1.exe (message: waitng for device)

6. Reconnect your Omnia with the usb cable

7. Soft reset your Omnia (with your stylus. [Right upside])

8. Once is recognized, clix START in your DXHJ1.exe program

9. Dont touch anything.....and prey ;)

10. Once message= JOB DONE, you can deal with your Omnia

thanks for great help

First, let me say I'm new to this whole thang ~ You guys are (wicked) smart! You talk about computer programming like it's how to cook an omlette!!! Mine burn! Anyways I just got the i900 Omnia and know nothing about any of this (although I'm learning)! The last phone I bought like 5 years ago was a Sony W600i which I never even used the internet on once. Been locked down awhile! Needless to say, I got a long ways to catch up!!! To be honest, I just learned a little more than the basics on running windows Vista when I bought a new laptop. Hated it at first!!!

So I got what I thought was the best phone ~ the Omnia. I've only had it like 4 days and before I even mess with it, I'm trying to pretend I know what I'm doing. I got a couple questions off the rip, maybe someone can help a kid out with. Let's pretend (just for the sake of it) that I'm a complete moron when it comes to all of this! I already did a hard reset on it before I even hooked it to the computer because I messed up the settings (wow) hope I didn't loose anything. Helps to read directions!!!

First - I don't want to even play with outdated firmware, that's the base I would change (if needed)! The phone I have is version DXHJ1/DZHJ1, I bought this on e-bay unlocked in U.S. (was supposed to be current version)! Not sure but when I went to Samsung update firmware link [[invalid version entry]]. Is this the latest version out? I am looking only for the official tested and best proven so far. I'm not good with tweeking stuff like that yet and won't be able to reset and fix it if something goes wrong!

Next I had problems with connecting to my wireless server but changed settings from "The Internet" to "Work" so it wouldn't try and connect using the cell service (which I don't even have yet) ~~~ pre-paid $50 card baby!!! Seemed to work fine though.

Now I hate the fact I can't watch any video while on a website (like MAXPORN.com) (ha,ha!) or Youtube. I also can't transfer any of my video files from Windows Media Player to phone. They are all in MP4 format - I used an old i-pod conversion with (M2 Convert) that used to work great on i-pod video. My music files do not download cover art as I know these problems have all been addressed. My question was if one of the Media software packages is hands-down the best for fixing all that nonsense! Money is not an issue, I want the best but I need the most straight-forward, self-explainitary. I'm not looking to free download and change a bunch of programs. I have read that there are problems with just about all of them and some haven't been authorized for the i900. Need a graphic EQ also, I was wicked dissapointed in that!

Besides those issues, I got the SBH 170 bluetooth headphones. I recommend them to anyone who doesn't have a big head. They are a little small in that aspect ~ but I think with a better stereo EQ they will be pretty impressive! Also anyone using corded headphones can check out HEADROOM www.headphones.com They make a headphone amplifier that will fix any volume issues your having no question!

Just to show everyone what a ridiculous newb I am, can anyone explain what all the programs that came on that disk do? Like MITs Wizard 3.0 and Retriever, what is the difference between windows media center and player. I've never used anything but i-tunes, never even used to check my original music folder! All I did is organize Windows Media Player from my i-tunes, then downloaded missing album art and kept all default settings from Active sync ~ I get my music on the phone , that's about it! Yeah ~ if anybody lives near Worcester, Mass. and wants to make some money programming my phone ~ let me know!!! If you have any questions about building a house or fixing your car, I can help ya there ~ I'm not completely useless! Alright ~ Thanks!
