Guys,
Like most other smartphones does the Benq E72 not warrant its own sub section? Seemd a good number of ppl are buying into this model. Me included!

can i ask a thing...

why on my new benq e72 (arrived yesterday) there are NOT the cool homescreen with flash and seashore (with the boat animation and daylight changes)? i miss it, where to find?

I guess that you have an Expansys sourced device like me. That being the case it is a UK spec phone and not HongKong and this homescreen is not included. Having said that I have seen somewhere on this site that someone does have these files. DO a search for all things Benq E72.

It would make things alot easier for all of us if someone in Modaco would only provide us with a subforum which I absolutely believe should happen and as I have previously requested. If allocation is warranted for weak devices (read Dell) then Benq deserves its rightfull place among the many other smartphones. And finally considering the price and form factor this phone whacks a lot of the competition IMHO.

i am looking everywhere for benq e72 stuff, but unsuccessfull! T_T ifd you (or others) know where to look, pleas advise me

How about making one up using the miniUSB from the headphone cable provided w. the E72, and a 3.5mm jack. Solder the wires, insulate, cover w. self-amalgamating stretchy synth. rubber, then finish with heat-shrink tubing cover.

Thats exactly what I am going to do. Will try to get an extra headsetg if I can and then doi a job on it. Do you think the likes of Maplin would have all the bits to do this?

a)about the miniusb port i did some test...

1 connect my benq to ActiveSync with an htc cable (for htc s310/oxygen/spv c100)
and it is connect right
1bis also connect with a standard miniusb-usb cable (one for the minisd card reader) and working too...
but
2 i plug mine htc s310 headphone in the miniusb of the benq but doesn't fit... strange!
usb cable works but doesn'not the headphones?

this night (at home) i'll try with headset by qtek 8500/htc star trek

b)about the homescreen

i miss the flash ui, but it isn't a big trouble, anyway i need this bar/plugin for the homescreen (see pictures, the bar is pointed with green arrow)

anyone could help me to find it? or share with me...
i'm looking everywhwere... but i am really unluck! T__T"

This is my problem too. I had a HTC S730 and I could use the power charger cause it would fit but the headset will not fit. If you look at the connector on the HTC one side of it is straight up and down whilst the other side is curved. On the Benq both sides are curved so the HTC will not fit in. When I was in Hong Kong recently I tried an adaptor from Samsung. It did fit the Benq device but the music still came out of the rear speaker. It seems there are different types of miniUSB connectors. WHy oh why do manufacturers not have conformity standards?????
