So feel free to post your own bugs here, and confirmed fixes, and i'll try to update the top to keep things organized. So to get things rolling.... Bug: Accelerometer suddenly stops working... Fix: Go to Settings>System>Power>Battery power tab and tick the two check boxes. Guest sharpman Posted October 25, 2008 Report Share Posted October 25, 2008 (edited) SERIOUS Bug: Phone service turned off randomly (meaning Omnia goes to Flight Mode).When this happened, you cannot turn back your Phone service unless by turning OFF your Omnia, wait for a few seconds and turn your Omnia ON again. POSSIBLE Fix: Turn off Automatic Time Updating by going to Settings --> System --> Clock & Alarms --> More --> Time Zone updating: Manual Only * will update this post after a few days to see whether the fix works... Makes texting a real pain. For example when i select Opera from the start menu, it sometimes picks up two taps, so first opens opera and then messaging as well. When texting, I find i get a lot of repeated letters (eg. Moddaco is a uuseful websiite). 2) "Etiquette mode"- does not turn off vibration. Pretty stupid not to do this since it will make too much noise vibrating. 3) Phone crashes when closing a pdf using adobe's reader. Anyone know a fix for any of these? (Perhaps unchecking the setting, testing, then checking it back works? Both take about the same time to load for me now. Thanks for the reply finaldestiny. I have edited my post above so hopefully it's a little clearer. After the initial tap it will sometimes pick up a second tap almost immediately after this and in the same place. Regards the etiquette mode, I wonder whether there is a registry option, or some other hidden setting, that tells the phone what to do in etiquette mode, cos something must tell it to turn the sound off at least. And I don't think I've ever seen my flashlight blink, even though I remember changing setting which I though at least would make it do this. Have you tried re-calibrating your screen? I know my screen was way off the first time because i calibrated it with the plastic still on (heh, wanted to keep the scratches off but i eventually tossed it :lol: ) Also are you using the stylus or your fingers as input? When i get a text message: i only get a message on the screen. No sound and no vibration. When i get a phonecall i do get sound & i also get vibration. Any fix on this? Guest Tech Posted October 27, 2008 Report Share Posted October 27, 2008 funny because i dont get some of those bugs, the others i havent tried. but one annoying thing as mentioned in a different thread was this "press key to activate" when you are on the call which means you cannot press any numbers if you are on an automated system in call... so you need to press the middle key before using the keys on the screen...then locks immediately within a second after using it, which is so annoying and frustrating! i would also like to set IE as my default browser - but there is no option to, which is stupid. When your phone is overturned and a call comes in and the phone vibrates like mad, just hit the volume keys to stop everything. So then when one comes in the etiquette mode you'll be alerted by the flashing light. That should work in theory anyway, never actually tried it :lol: @Compuse Did that really work for you? Just tried it but, Opera wasn't set as the default to begin with. I just got the Omnia a few days ago and now it's been 8 hours with the phone function locked off. I do not have the "Time Zone updating: manual only" option on my phone. Please help. Guest travelbug Posted December 11, 2008 Report Share Posted December 11, 2008 hi im using j1 and ive notice a freezing/sleeping bug too while wifi is on. when you leave the wifi on and its not connected(unavailable,etc.) , the phone seems to freeze after going into suspend for more than a minute. the only way to wake the phone from this "sleep" is to soft-reset. can anyone confirm this too? not a majorly serious bug but very annoying Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also Mobile Im won't connect 90% of the time. Message says "your last action could not be acknowledged due to device or network problems. Please try later". Guest samHDS Posted December 12, 2008 Report Share Posted December 12, 2008 Most of the time my phone would freeze. like 5 secs freeze. it returns back to normal after the freeze for 1 sec. and it keeps repeating. Any idea what caused all these? i believe it got to do with the phone sleeping and S2U2. i am going to try to have the S2U2 deactivated. and see whether the problem still arise. Sometimes when I tap a letter the vibration seems on a delay and I end up accidentially tapping it twice, sometimes it just happens. It depends on where an icon is. The closer to the edge, the less often it happens. The letters closer to the centre of the screen seem to be more prone to it. It also happens when I scroll on internet pages. It sems to think I clicked on something instead of wanting to scroll. but one annoying thing as mentioned in a different thread was this "press key to activate" when you are on the call which means you cannot press any numbers if you are on an automated system in call... so you need to press the middle key before using the keys on the screen...then locks immediately within a second after using it, which is so annoying and frustrating! yes this is frustrating. To use an automated phone system, it's easiest to put the phone on speaker. You then need to use the middle button to activate the keypad, but I can't find a setting for changing the time between it appearing and disappearing. Guest spastee Posted December 12, 2008 Report Share Posted December 12, 2008 ok apart from the many other glitches on the Omnia (which i still like), these are the 3 that really p*ss me off!!!! 1) if you have fed in a signature to be used with messaging, it only comes when you reply to a message... i.e. with a new message there is no signature as there should be...all my htc's worked fine with that! 2) when you open a new message and want to use "my text" click on menu, insert, text, my text (so far so good) . So you edit the preset messages to lets say you address so you dont have to type it again and again...then you exit it, use the new "my text". send the message..then when you open the next new message and goto my my text, its back to the preset messages!!!! This is a big screw up as i used to use this a lot on my htc...anyway...the only way my text is used is when you are replying...that's when there's a different my text menu which can be edited and works....so bottom line no "my text" and no "signature" for new messages????????? 3) my call logs on the omnia are only about a week....I think it resets every week or so...anyone know how to prevent this??? my previous win mo's were really long as far as that was concerned.... so with these glitches I guess the Omnia screws some of the things I loved abt win mo..... can anyone HELP????
