.jar files are Java applications, and are run using the JBlend program that ought to be installed by default on the Diamond.

I think you can save the .jar files to Internal Storage/My Documents, or any other location you wish, then run the JBlend program to install/run them.

Zip files: it depends on what they contain. If you are downloading zipped copies of programs, you should probably unzip them on the PC before copying to the Diamond. WM devices do have a 'Zip' application however, that allows you to zip/unzip folders if you need to.  The only zipped files you must not unzip are those with the .cab extension: these are special zipped Cabinet files for local installation of WM programs. These are copied as they are to the WM device, then executed by tapping them in File Manager.
