after it locks the signal, it keeps on searching for GPS device.
version: i780DXHA1
GPS program port: GPD1
GPS hardware port: COM8
Baud rate: 4800

note: the roms havent been upgraded/downgraded before. could it be that the GPS is locked???

You need to set GPS Program Port to COM Device, e.g. COM8:
The Default Hardware Port: COM9: and Baud Rate 4800 should not be changed.
And use Port Splitter and GPSGate for activate the Port for use with Garmin MobileXT.
