How to automate software installation after every ROM update

Hi guys,

After every ROM update I have to reinstall all my applications and since I have the following list:

  • TranCreative Magic Button
  • GB-SOFT-Tweak
  • MoDaCo_OmniaThread
  • MoDaCo OmniaSIP
  • Advanced Configuration Tool
  • Memmaid
  • WebIS Pocket Informant 8.1
  • SBSH.net ContactBreeze
  • ThumbApps Thumbcall
  • SBSH.net PocketBreeze
  • Chi-Tai Dang SecondToday
  • Spb Gprs monitor
  • Spb Phone Suite 1.3
  • Spb Mobile Shell 2.1.2
  • Spb Menu Plugins
  • SPB Mobile Shell Omnia Skin 3.1
  • Sprite Backup 6.5.2

this is quite a time consuming job.

Is there a way to automate installation of new software including the correct user settings? Every ROM update now takes me 2-3 hours

Any help would be appreciated :D

Grtz,

Peter

Maybe pbrand doesn't have a cooker's soul

check this out : User Customization (UC)

It allows you to automate program's installation after hard reset, or after flashing a new ROM, like PaSSoA's ROMs :D . I just had a look at it for the moment, but it's promising !

use the search button.

like prp linked, you can make your own rom there:)

I know how to use the search button, thank you very much

ROM cooking is not something you easily do if you have never done it before. I haven't got a clue how to test a ROM before flashing it. And since the omnia is my day-to-day pda/calendar I don't want to brick it with my own s*** because I made a cooking mistake..

I saw it too and it does indeed look promising. But I don't quite know how you can get all the data which a program installed?

I mean, with UC you can autostart a cab which will be installed. And you can customise the registry so you can add settings. But how do you know which settings have been altered after you have tweaked an application to your own personal use?

I don't have a regdiff tool or something for WM :D

Total Commander is a file explorer plus registery editor(in WM)

Or if you prefer a remote registry editor(edit registry via usb), there are a few available. Still trying to find a free one..

I found one in the XDA UC topic: here It can export, compare and it's free

AutoInstall is the way to go for me. See my other post: AutoInstall

Looks nice. In the post you refer to you say: I can provide more detailed info if people are interested.

Well, I definitely am interested

Could you tell me/us more about it on how you use it and what tools you use/need to use it?

Thanks!
