Hi everyone!

First I want to say thanks for this great guide, second my issue is that when I run SYAKR to remove what i need I tick the apps that I want to remove, but what I don't understan is what do I do when I am finshed with ticking the apps that I want too remove? I tried once and the Rom flashed my phone and everything is working but those apps that I ticked are still there.

Thanks!

You need to click run scripts... Another window will open and you'll get an error log at the end (in the base of the kitchen).

Good luck

My latest (totally unsupported) roms: 21911 Neo (6.5) - 21057 (6.1)
Both fairly lite roms, don't ask what's included, just try them (at your own risk) ;). These are the roms i use on a day to day basis and they are VERY reliable

Now also on omniarom.com with my own kitchen.

It worked perfect!
Another question, I builded my Rom from an official Nordic Rom, my question is Can I somehow choose the language for my Rom? Because the Nordic Rom should include Swedish and I would like to have Swedish as the Rom language.

And I tried to convert a cab file to pkg using cab2kpg, I got a folder with some files in...How do I use this to integrate with my Rom?

I didn't try it before but you can give it a try, as long as the eboot..nbo is working you can revert back to any rom

Just put the folder into the OEM folder & it'll appear in the BuildOS.bat

If you read here: http://www.modaco.co...tchen/page/340/

There are quite a few discusssions about changing Languages on roms.. (give or take 1-2 pages)... Never done it myself though...

Would you be able to upload the Nordic rom?? Been looking for one of those but can't find one anywhere.. Would appreciate it!!

Thanks

Firstly, thanks to all the helpful cooks here who are willing to share their knowledge.

I've been reading the guides here, and feel I'm ready to cook something. I downloaded an official update rom, extracted the update.exe out, and dragged it to ExtractROM_exe. However, I got some error and was unable to proceed.

Hope someone can help me out on this.

Many Thanks!

EDIT: I've tried and succeeded in building a rom using Vistang's Visual Kitchen. Tks anyway. BTW, when building the updater exe (last step) do you all usually include all the parts? e.g. phone.bin?

Thanks Shokka for the great guide!

Not sure if this is a issue, but every time I seem to extract the OEMApps folder from DXID1, I only seem to be left with about 135 files extracted and around 500 after showing hidden files. Is this normal, as the folder before extraction has over 1300 files inside.

Hi,

I know this is my 1st post here. I have a Samsung Omnia i900. Im new to Samsung ROM building, but I have done my share for the Motorola E398 and V3i (Long time ago)
I've been reading a lot about how to make your own Roms for the Omnia.

What I want is changing a stock update (I'd love wm6.5).
I'd like an origional rom from wich I'll just remove a lot of crap wich I don't use.
Now I've tried everything described in the how-to, but I can't get it to work.

Everytime I try to extract the roms, I get a message saying Access Denied (Soz for not posting a screenshot, but I have a dutch version of Windows)
There are a lot of extra files (Including the 3 new maps when extracting)
But the map for OEM and SYS is empty. (Both of these have the error)

I tried with a lot of ROMS here and all give the same error.
When I try to extract an official rom (Downloaded from the Samsung site) it doesn't unpack anything, giving the message no files can be found.

Now I have installed everything (.net framework including all updates and the C++ packages) but nothing seems to help. I even tried installing Visual C++.
I have also tried on 2 PC's. 1 is a Windows 7 PC, running VMWare XP. (I try it on the XP machine) the other PC is just regular XP.
Both give the same Access Denied error.

I searched the forum, but can only find 1 person with the same error, but didn't see any ways around it.
Is there any specific ROM i can use for my intentions? a clean, out-of-the-box ROM from wich I can remove my unwanted software? I don't need to add anything.
I know I can use many of the great roms here on my phone, but most still have either too much (unwanted) software, or apps wich I do want to keep are removed.

I hope anyone can help me here :)

OK, so now I found a ROM that is completely unpacking (zi900DXHH3.exe - found it somewhere in this forum)
Only thing is, I have absolutely no idea whis verson of OS this has or if it'll work on my phone. (Dutch i900, official software was XKHK3, telfort provider firmware)

I'm still looking at the manuals for cooking to understand a bit more
http://www.modaco.co...ook-custom-rom/
http://www.modaco.co...900-using-syok/

Can anyone please tell me where I can get a rom wich is unpackable with all the default Samsung apps?
As I said before, I tried the official update files from Samsung itself (XKHJ3), but that doesn't unpack.

At the moment my phone is running Yonn_i900_M2D_GTX_Premium_23128_XPR (Works perfect!)
Wich has the Start-button on the bottom left corner. I prefer a rom (as new as possible) wich has the start-button still on the top-left. (I use a lot of MobiPocket Reader, the program doesn't know how to handle the lower start-menu)

I did try a search, but those tend to point to posts made over a year ago.
I also tried 2 downloads by searching trough Google, but both had a virus-warning. Wich the roms here don't give.

Thanks in advance, I hope someone can help me.

I've read a lot and finally found a version wich I like very much.
I'm now running WM6.5 DXIA5 build 21899 (From the topic of Untouched versions)

Only when I try to extract the rom, the maps OEM and SYS are empty, so I can't personalize the version.

Again, I tried searching the forums for an origional version, but still can't find any.
Can someone please link or send me the (real) untouched version of DXIA5 Build 21899?

I want to remove the following software from the phone (All other programs can stay on the phone):
- Getting Started
- Live Search
- Marketplace
- Microsoft Myphone
- MSN Weather
- MSN Money
- Internet Sharing
- Search Phone
- Help
- Connected Home
- FM Radio
- Google Search
- Favorite Settings
- Modem Link
- RSS Reader
- Podcast
- Search Widget (Bing)
- Streaming Player
- TV Out viewer
- Video Editor

I want to add:
- MemMaid
- SPB Mobile Shell
- SPB Phone Suite
- Slide 2 Unlock (S2U2)
- G-Alarm
- PHM Register Editor
- Total Commander
- MobiReader (Mobi Pocket Reader)
- Dutch Language (If possible)

Bro....

It dont work like that. DXIA5 is a regionalised build of 20270 (standard WM6.1 build).

21899 refers to a later build that may or may not (NEVER as far as i am concerned) made it to the Omnia.

To get that build look to xda-devs (LINK HERE) its not hard to find bro ;)

There is also NO such thing as 'REAL' or 'UNTOUCHED' version of that ROM. You are asking for Microsoft builds that are LEAKED to us, the devs. There wont be an untouched version. These versions are hacked to work on Omnia, or any other device.

If i am wrong, shoot me down. If not, then please do some more reading before you ask for things that cannot be linked to.

I also think this might eb why nobody replied to you earlier.
