I was looking into having iPlayer on my touch HD and found this on the website

http://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co.uk/help...er/mobile_phone

Which says that it should work on my touch HD. So I went to the iPlayer site in Opera and clicked on a video link just to try it out. It opened pvplayer and said connecting 20 minutes later it still said connecting so I gave up. I was using a wifi connection running at 2mbps. Has anyone got this working and am I just being thick and missing something obvious?

I always had problems with server timeout when the streaming was launched. I read about port forwarding etc but no joy. This week I flashed the rom and now iplayer works fine. It takes a few minutes to start up, btuthen works like a charm

excuse the ignorance, but can you tell me how you 'flash the ROM' - iplayer has been driving me nuts, it worked fine for a couple of weeks and then last week started hanging just after the streaming mewdia app opened up!!!

cheers

@wilf. if you ask that quaetion then you have a bit of reading to do yet, unless you want to kill your HD :)

read http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...lashing%20Guide

and then all the info on here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...=HTC_Blackstone

then choose your rom from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?p...tone_cookedroms

you will invalidate your warranty

ps i player works fine for me over wifi, although quality is kak

Just tried it round a friends house using his wifi connection and it worked perfectly. Must be something to do with my connection since I can only get 1mbps and my friend gets 8.
