Guest awarner (MVP) Posted April 13, 2009 Report Share Posted April 13, 2009 Welcome to the site :excl: To install files to your phone in .cab format, connect the phone to the pc using Activesync (if you have XP) or Device Manager (if you have Vista). Once connected copy the .cab fil and explore the phone the same way as you would do on the pc and drag and drop the file to storage card on the phone. I prefer copying file to the card as it helps to keep the phone clutter free. once you have done this then on the phone with the file manager, go to the foler you have just placed the .cab file and run the file. This will now install the file and then auto delete the cab file (unless you have set it to read only). Guest awarner (MVP) Posted April 15, 2009 Report Share Posted April 15, 2009 The X1 can use .cab and .exe (as long as it is a .exe designed to run on the phone). .cab are similar in appearance to a .zip/.rar but if you intend to download a .zip file you can buy a 3rd party app which will decompress the files.
