Can you power a Tytn II on mains only

If you take out the battery can the Tytn II run just on mains?

Probably, but all the instructions I've seen for mobiles (and laptops) all say doing this may damage the device.

The damage to the device is if there is a power cut while the filesystem is being written to. With battery operated devices there is a safe controlled shutdown method for when the battery gets low. To be honest its probably no more dangerous than operating a desktop computer without a UPS, and just how many home computer users actually have UPSs?
