Guest zfly9
Can someone help me with upgrading to any rom using Windows Vista? I have tried the "solution" but I get "EBOOT failed" and have tried asking in there a few times. I hear there are "Vista specific" roms but can't find any... ANY HELP is appreciated. Guest POMF
Pardon my ignorance but what is the issue you're encountering. I only use vista and have had no trouble flashing my phone. **fingers crossed**

Guest oraclegustavo
I can tell you from experience, I have tried flashing on a Vista 32 bit laptop and my Vista 64 bit desktop and neither would work no matter what I tried and TRUST ME I TRIED EVERYTHING. I will also mention that I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to computers and have flashed 2 other phones, HTC ones, in the past without any problems. My solution came in the form of Windows 7 which worked like a charm. You can pick up the release candidate from many places.
Guest 70blzr
I also ran into a bit of a snag using a vista machine I had just put together, I might have to try 7 and see how it goes. If not I know my xp box works.

Is there a 'stable' release yet? Or is it just build after build?
Guest TheDrizzle
FWIW I've flashed the CC20 ROM, and three versions of Wozzers ROM on Vista 64 SP1 with absolutely no issues at all. Installed the "windows mobile center" software that came with my device, unchecked the "Allow usb connections" and followed the directions and it all worked! Guest whiplash000
Just to be totally sure I unchecked everything in WMDM, and set up the ROM flasher so it runs with admin privileges and xp compatibility mode. Works perfect with Windows 7 build 7057 every time.

Guest spy21der
I have Vista too.. I believe I was having the same problems as you at first. For some reason I have to restart my laptop before it will work. That might be your problem too. I have flashed 2 times, both times it wouldn't work. I did everything it said. Somewhere I read that if it doesn't work you need to restart your computer. Both times it worked as soon as I restarted. Hope it helps
Guest nate.mcbride
I've got Win7 RC1, no problems flashing at all (except when i forget to disable usb... heh) MS hasn't released any unstable beta's for Win7... and RC1 is good for like another year or something. Haven't tried with Vista but i know it is possible...
