Is there a way to remove the word "Start" from the area next to the Windows logo? I'd like to have more space for the open apps logos.

I am trying to do the exact same thing, without success.  please post result if you can find. Probably a registry tweak?

there's some start menu replacement app that i had with my Kaiser, which made the menu just the icon when apps were open
