From the Omnia's Main Menu or Shortcuts menu it is possible to tap on a Programs icon which shows installed programs in a finger friendly list.  Is it possible to bring up that list from a shortcut?  E.g. I would like to start that app from Launch Manager.

Omnia i910 CC20 ROM

installing VIJAY555 's key press will allow you to do it.

You will need to create a shortcut with the parameter 91 to call the menu.

Hmm, interesting little app, but it doesn't quite do the trick.

I don't know of a way to do this though I haven't used main menu in a long time.

There is a program over on XDA-Devlopers called Touch Launcher that will give you what you want though. I'm pretty sure it is not being developed anymore but it gives a finger scrollable launcher that you can also skin. Since it has a start menu icon it also can be slaved to a hard button on your device. I used it in my 6.1 ROMs and it worked very well.

I make ROMs because I like to. If you want to buy me a Pepsi though: Donate

Your initial question doesn't really help on the clarity front, but after re-reading your question a few times, you seem to be asking:

1) are there any finger friendly program launchers?
2) can these launchers be used to replace the default launcher, either by pressing the start button or associating it with a hard/soft key?

For 1), there are lots of finger friendly launchers.  yes.  there are lots:

http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=497607
http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=336844

There are many more and as usual, a google search will give you many options to choose from.

For 2) all of these will give you a shortcut in the \windows\start menu\Programs folder, so you will be able to map them to any key or use  the SoftKeyApplet.cpl to remap soft keys.

Some of these launchers do replace the functionality windows start button (eg launch Manager), but I am not sure that they all do.  The following program allows you to change the behaviour when you press the  windows start button. http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=486712  You will be able to add your favourite launcher to replace the default.

Thanks for your input ;) Sorry I was not clear!  I am using Launch Manager, but as with many launchers like that one, each program to be launched has to be manually populated in the launcher.  The Omnia launcher justs lists whatever is in Start | Programs.  So, what I would like to have is Launch Manager populated with the programs I normally use, but with one shortcut that lists everything in Start | Programs so I can easily launch any programs that I haven't put in Launch Manager.

I will take a look at the links, thanks for taking time to help!

Frank

Thanks, I will take a look at it ;)

EDIT: Perfect!  Well, it would be if landscape worked :D  But that is just the thing I am looking for.
