However it may just be the placebo effect. Let me know what you think. I also had a program called Diamond tweak on my diamond that allowed me to play with some audio settings increasing the volume, i tried HD tweak on my TG01 (simply because it has the same resolution) but don't think it's done alot though it seems to remember its settings which makes me think something somewhere has changed. The program is available from HERE. Unfortunately, I didn't find any difference in volume after the installation, and I tried TomTom, Core Player and others. Still, I don't want to spoil your placebo feeling :) so I am looking forward to other opinions as well. It is an issue with TG01 that needs to be resolved one way or another. Go to windows folder, if you see an application called SoundTester, you can seriously boost the volume (individually for the handset and headset) Launch soundtester, menu, normal, handset (or headset), then .....argh, then I don't remember what value to change ....I'll try to find the good post concerning this (sorrrrrryyyyy!!) Anyway try increasing a little the negative values (a little, or you'll destroy the speaker!) Found it, copied it over, but don't have time to figure out what all the settings are. I've put it up for anybody who wants to try. Hopefully i'll have some time to play this evening. Found these quotes though. Click menu, normal then handset (the first one, Phones headset / loudspeaker) Here you can change: Speaker volume: SPK(02) -db is less volume, I have set this to -1.5db (level) Digital-to-analog: DAC(0C) this effects the overall volume of Mp3s, movies etc -both headset and loud speaker. I have set this to 0db. Radio Volume: RVOL How to change the headset / earphones volume. Click menu, normal then headset (the second one, Headphones) Here you can change: Headphones volume: HP(02) -db is less volume +db is more volume, I have set this to 0db (level) Digital-to-analog: DAC(0C) This effects the overall volume of Mp3s, movies etc. I have set this to 0db. Radio Volume: RVOL * You must click menu / apply for changes to take effect, * I recommend play a Mp3 launch the app, then apply the changes and set your prefered max volume. * Setting high levels could damage the loud speaker or your headphones, not to mention your hearing!! I don't recommend touching other settings unless you know what your doing or have copied the defaults so you can revert back. 1. Launch an mp3 player (tested with S2P and the Omnia's media player) 2. Launch SoundTester.exe 3. Minimize SoundTester, launch your registry editor 4. Using the task switcher, switch back to SoundTester 5. Play with the SoundTester Normal->Headset settings until you like the sound. You may need to restart a song each time you change the settings in order to hear the difference (I did). For what it's worth, the only setting I could actually increase was the values of the last value, I forget the title of it (R-something). That did, however, increased the volume. 6. Without closing SoundTester, switch over to your registry editor and look at HKLM\SAMSUNG\AUDIO. You should see a HEADSETNORMAL key. Look in there and you will find some DWORD entries (a bunch of numbers and letters). To add more detail, the only value that changes in the registry values at HKLM\SAMSUNG\AUDIO - HEADSETNORMAL is the 3rd value (0x12) and the rest of the values remain unchanged. I also changed the HANDSETNORMAL values. 7. These are the entries you should record (write down in paper). Write all if you want to be extra careful. 8. Close SoundTester (It will remove these entries, phone goes back to low volume) 9. Open your reg editor HKLM\SAMSUNG\AUDIO - HEADSETNORMAL and HANDSETNORMAL and change the 3rd value (0x12) to the value you wrote down. 10. Wait 20 seconds, do a soft-reset and test. EDIT: Unfortunately, I can confirm that using this software to increase the volume DOES NOT work. Clicking on Apply will reset the values.
