Samsung support for the i8000

Hi all, I am brand new in the forum.

I wanted to get an i900, but there's no 3G frequency to support it with AT&T.

Now the i8000 is out and it has at least 1900mhz, that makes it kinda' compatible, even though I understand it may be touch and go with the frequency.

My question is, shall Samsung support a product that is yet to be officially imported in the USA?

All the web retailer are parallel importers and I would not want to send the phone to Hong Kong for repairs.

I think this phone is far superior to the iPhone and too bad the USA's cellular technology trails the rest of the world by a couple of years.
