Alright master chef's... I've been closet cooking since Adryn released his kitchen, and now that WoZZeR has released a more manageable kitchen i've decided to take it on a little more seriously...

The one thing that is holding me back and driving be nuts is cooking in FTouchSL (kinetic scrolling) and getting rid of the welcome screen and screen alignment. It's really frustrating. I've added an OEM to change the regisrty of the welcome to diasble = dword:00000EF and changed the rgu in OEMDrivers to disable it... can someone share a little insight?

the kinetic scrolling has been getting me too... I made an OEM from FTouchSL with the optimal calibration settings as default. and still cannot get rid of the annoying samsung graduated clicking scroll! i can't even install FTouchSL on a completely stock ROM and get it to work yet i know it does because most of you have it in your ROM's... any help with this would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thanks.

You can use the ftouch thats in ardys kitche OEM... it works great. as for the welcome screen just visit http://omniarom.com and search for initflashfiles.dat i believe

Thanks peperonikiller, however i have used both Adryn's FTouchSL OEM as well as my own with no avail... maybe because i can't get the screen alignment fixed? i have been trying to register at omniarom for a week now and only get the "an error has occurred" screen.

EDIT: my initflashfiles.dat is identical to Adryn's... my whole OEM folder is practically identical... so that can't be the issue.

For FTouchSL you need this setting in the RGU:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH]

"DriverName"="FTouchSLDLL.dll"

"PrevDriverName"="touch.dll"

"Click"=dword:7D0

"DownUp"=dword:00000096

"CalibrationData"="504,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872"

For the welcome screen remove or comment out this line from your initflashfiles.dat:

Directory("\Windows\StartUp"):-File("Welcome.lnk","\Windows\welcome.lnk")

hmm, thats weird. I dunno what to tell you about the scrolling.. maybe someone else can chime in there, but here is the file you need to replace to remove the welcome screen..

"Replace your initflashes.dat in (your kitchen here)\OEM\OEM_Lang_0409"

initflashfiles.zip

Thanks BW... that's the part i was missing. i had the registry entries but i think the screen alignment on startup was screwing it all up. I appreciate it.

Ok... so kinetic scrolling is coming and going. Right now i can't get it to work. Been able to get it to work, i've tried several OEM's with no luck. I've gotten it to work a couple times and i haven't changed anything since other than the SYS

Ok, i just took Adryn's 23008 kitchen with his OEM and cooked with BuildOS and ftouchsl as an oem and kinetic scrolling works. i move the entire oem folder to WoZZeR's kitchen and cook up a ROM and kinetic Scrolling is broke again... so frustrating!!

Have you checked to see if all of the reg settings are correct after you flash? Perhaps something is being changed.

Yeah i took it down to just FTouchSL added to my OEM's and still nothing. The Touch settings in the registry match what they should have. it really doesn't make any sense. right now i'm taking out FTouchSL and will install it after i flash. see if i can at least get it to work somehow.

So you have this in the reg after the flash?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH]

"DriverName"="FTouchSLDLL.dll"

No, what i meant was all i was cooking was FTouchSL (besides the SYS etc..) and my reg looked like this

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH]

"DriverName"="FTouchSLDLL.dll"

"PrevDriverName"="touch.dll"

"Click"=dword:7D0

"DownUp"=dword:00000096

"CalibrationData"="504,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872"

"EXEC"="Zoomer.exe"

I haven't really nailed down the difference, so I can't explain why at this point, but I believe you need to replace the metadata folder in your SYS with one from the old kitchen for Adrynalyne's FTouchSL OEM.

Well you hit it on the head... i replaced the metadata with an orig CF03 version and it works great! Thanks... took me awhile to get another ROM to boot, which is still a mystery to me... but my biggest most frustrating hurdle (so far)  is solved thanks man.

Your still not understanding me. Check the reg setting after you flash your phone on your phone. During the flash the reg setting is being changed back to the normal setting. So you need to make a change so that doesn't happen. What you can do is change the name of the FTouchSL folder to ZZZ_FTouchSL. This will change the order that this file is placed in and the reg setting should stick.

That would be a workaround and not a fix but if your happy with it. :)

After a flash my reg looks like it should, that's why i didn't understand why it wasn't working.

Believe me, i HATE workarounds. I would much rather get it to work natively. Tomorrow i will try and break it again and see if i can get it to work without replacing the metadata.

Ok so i just tried cooking in Ftouch again with the original metadata (because i do hate workarounds) and made Ftouch the last oem (zzzzzzFtouchSL) checked my reg

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH]</P><P>"CalibrationData"="519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872"</P><P>"Exec"="\\windows\\Zoomer.exe"</P><P>"MaxCalError"=dword:00000007</P><P>"DownUp"=dword:00000096</P><P>"Click"=dword:000007D0</P><P>"PrevDriverName"="touch.dll"</P><P>"DriverName"="FTouchSLDLL.dll"

That's what i got... Still doesn't Work!
