Comes to a stand still every once in a while on mine :\

I've been thinking that maybe its the built in SD card reader? We need a apk app that tests SD speed and IO operations.

I got to switch off swap to get Galaxy to operate reliably.

Can we compare the Kernel config with swap enabled Hero Kernel?

I believe we need an external sdcard to get swap working right. You can see it here. Not proven but we can try it. I used to believe that swap with internal sd was hanging because of the power management but its still there with the custom kernel.
