Hi,

I have 2 B7610, flasht them both a week ago to wm6.5 secany's rom.

I could have wifi for one week ? now.. I cannot connect to any!!! WIFI accesspoint.

I have tried all security settings on / off on the access point.

I have tried the school WIFI access point ( who has worked before on my winmo 6.1 )

I have tried to connect to public wifi AP's like McDonalds / NMBS (train station ) ... etc

even after hard reset , even after REFLASHing the device.. still can't connect to ANY Accesspoint :-(

what is wrong ?

Just go to Start >> Setting >> Connections >>> Operator Setting >> Drop down and choose another service provider and click ok wait 30 sec

and go back choose your original service provider and wait another 30 sec and try to connect the wifi again and tell me if this worked

did what you said. no results.

I even did the restore network settings ( like GRPS settings etc )

rebooted the device also .. ( no soft reset , shutdown and startup )

same problem.

but what has the operator settings to do with wifi ?

do you connect with the samsung app or MS application ?

I will try the operator setting stuff again.. en wait 30 sec, reboot, en reselect the original. wait 30sec en reboot.

reboot = shutdown & start up.

Maybe it's something with the policies.

Tried connecting to a WEP/WPA protected Access Point?

Please try to downgrade to Wm6.1 using my dumped version (found in B7610 Collection Thread).

Please let us know if it worked :)

I now know the problem why the both devices couldn't connect to any wifi accesspoint.

samsung settings -> system -> version -> device -> WIFI.

the MAC address was: FF FF FF FF FF FF

that's the broadcast address for ethernet ...

So If you check Erase NV PDA & Erase CSC you get this problem.

after downgrade to your old 6.1 ROM... we have BACK a normal MAC address.. BUT !!!!

now we have the SAME mac address and probabely the same mac as you: 00 00 00 FF FF 58

We upgrades again to 6.5. and stil the same mac 00 00 00 FF FF 58

( so we can't connect simultanious to the same access point )

Is there anyway to solve the MAC problem ?

thank you.

I try change register HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Samsung\WiFi "MACADDRESS" to 60D0A9........ but after soft reset is FF FF FF FF FF FF back :-(

tired via Admin menu?

1. type:  *#1546792*#

2. choose "Internal"

3. Type as pwd: *#0807#

4. choose WiFi MAC address

5. type pwd: 1234

6. Set MacAdress

7. Execute

Of course you do it at your own risk!

Hello!

Most of the wireless network used at home and free hotspots are using 802.11g. There are now new broadband router now using 802.11n especially if you got it free from your Starhub Maxonline Plan. In Singapore and Malaysia, most broadband users are using Linksys, Dlink and Belkin.

Omnia (i900, b7610..) is able to connect to wireless routers using 802.11g. There are some Omnia users who are unable to connect to this type of wireless router as their Omnia has been set to use 802.11B by default. Go download & install trial version of SKTools into Omnia, then run Tune Up! and select Network tab (at the bottom), you will see 'WLAN 802.11G support = NO', change it to YES will do. You can also configure your wireless router to use 802.11B & G.

Linksys Wireless Router WRT54GYou can set your wirless router to used both 802.11B and 802.11G. Go to Wireless > Basic Wireless Settings and select Wireless Network Mode and choose Mixed. For advanced users, you can also set to use it for B or G only.

[from: http://www.pspmyspace.com/omnia/2008/12/wi...ion-failed.html] **Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V**

That is the trick..

Do this and tell us what happen!! (It worked for my B7610 from Europe. I use it in Brazil)

I am trying to do this but I dont know what sort of numbers I should list as my MAC address. I have 2 b7610's that I am trying to get to work with my home network. Can someone give a brief explaination of the mac address and what sort of numbers I could try?
