Available before the end of the month, according to news reports:

http://phandroid.com/2009/11/20/acer-a1-pr...d-and-liquified

Best price I've seen in 335 incl. p&p and VAT @ Clove:

Currently have a Hero, and the only thing holding me back going for this is that it's an Acer. Big positives are:

- 1GHZ Snapdragon (underclockd)

- 800 x 480 res screen

- 3.5" screen

Just ordered one, clove customer support said they should ship them within a week.

In the end of the day, if you're not satisfied you can always return it within 7 days and you won't have spent a penny (exception made for delivery costs).

However, to me it seems a good deal: £335 (vat included) is very cheap for what we get.

The underclocked snapdragon can be brought back to 1ghz once we have rooted the phone and, anyway, do not forget that even underclocked, the processing power is still impressive (better than iphone 3gs for instance). Furthermore, lower clock speed means longer battery life.

Sounds like a great deal, im having a look at one myself, would be interested to see what you think when you get it.

Ive always been under impressed with Acer handhelds (pocket pc's back in the day) would like to see what the build quality is like.

Paul.

Awesome video. Thank you very much.

Can you please check which version of the phone you have?

There seem to be a European/Rest of World version which supports HSPA/UMTS/WCDMA on 900/1900/2100 and a North American version supporting 850/1900/2100 MHz.

Strangely enough, stores seem to be all over the map which version they are actually selling (they often have no clue and simply copy&paste specs from the manufacturer).

Also: is there anything on the outside of the box indicating which version it is/which frequencies are supported.

(Note, that both will support 850/900/1900/2100 for GSM.)

I am very interested in buying the Liquid but want to make sure I get the correct version for my network.

Just spoken to super etrader about it being a multitouch touch, they don't think it is a don't think the hardware supports it. Can anyone confirm this, as I'm deciding between the Acer and the HTC Hero!

No multitouch in software, the hardware supports it though I believe!

P

Linux always supports Multitouch but has to be enabled in kernell.

The touch screen is like the iPhone one, so it should support it.
