Well, I'm from Malta, i'm new at android, just ordered my Liquid 3 weeks ago.

I noticed that I don't have access to paid apps, only free apps shows up on the android market?

Why is that? Any other way so I could access and get the paid apps?

It is blocked on some providers in many countries. You could search the internet for mobile providers that do work in market properly, or you can root your phone and use market enabler :)

Often the problem is due to your phone provider not signing an agreement with Google. You could request that they do, however i doubt they would do it just for you ;)

They never heard the word "Android"

Can I have any link of the service providers that support market properly?

So if I root my phone and install Market Enabler, I will have access to the paid apps?

Can I buy the apps online(from pc), and install them via usb?

Thanks

1) don't have a list. Its hit and miss really. In Aus where i am, the company who's sales team, hasn't heard of android but that works. One company who does sell android phones doesn't work with paid apps

2) yes

3) not to my knowledge...but i honestly don't know. I think not since it would allow people to pirate apps easily?

I see, Thanks for your reply,

Regarding of telling my service provider to enable the Market, how can I explain the whole stuff so they could understand me?

I think telling the "Could you please enable Android Marker" wont understand me.

Regarding the Market Enabler, all it does is that changes the current locality so that it would work.

I would be interested in this enabler, but I think I will return my liquid for a replacement, (Camera Focus thing) and if I root my phone, I think I'll avoid warranty!

Something like this might work.

"Hi,

Google have created an operating system called 'Google Android' for smartphones. Many mobile phone manufacturers now use this operating system on their phones (Motorola, HTC, Sony Ericsson , Acer, Samsung). Like the iPhone, you can download free and paid applications to use on these phones through the android marketplace. Unfortunately I am unable to buy paid applications for android on your network due to the fact that Google only allows customers to buy paid apps if they are on a network that has reached an agreement with them. Would you be able to contact Google and allow paid applications to be bought buy customers who use your network?

Thanks"

Hey three_pineapples, you with Optus or Telstra? What I am trying to understand is why I cant see paid apps when just using wifi, even tried with sim taken out, so the phone provider would not have any influence.

Will have to give market enabler a go I guess -Just rooted my liquid and set up ADB so i can start playing around.
