Wondering if anyone's tried Benchmark

Tool measure phone performance for following categories:

- 2D Graphic performance

- CPU performance

- Memory performance

- File system performance

http://www.android-software.fr/benchmark

http://www.androlib.com/android.applicatio...mance-jiCn.aspx

Please feel free to post ur result. And if you have a different Android phone.. one can have a comparison. Especially Nexus One.

Hi,

First post here, so hello to everybody :)

Here are the benchmark results from my G1 with Cyanogen:

Graphic: 112.99

CPU: 156.83

Memory: 107.48

Filesystem: 26.87

Looks good for the Liquid then ;)

B1ny: I hope your graphic rating is a typo?

Graphics: 17.9 (not a typo) - Draw opacity bitmap 6.24 MPixel per sec, Draw transparent bitmap 4.72 MPixel per sec

CPU: 391.6

Mem: 312.2

Filesystem: 85.5

(Rooted Liquid)

Not a typo. This is due to the fact that the liquid has a much higher pixel count than previous phones. 17 is a similar graphics score to the Motorola Droid/milestone which has a similar pixel count.

Ah, I get it. Not quite comparable then. Thanks for clarifying :)

Hm, the graphic score is given in Mpixel/s, it shouldn't be affected that much by the higher resolution. I would guess that it's mostly a driver issue or maybe lesser good graphic core. What graphic core does the dragon include? How does it compare to the qualcomm?

It's easy to get information about the cpu core of each chip but I can't find anything about the graphics.

Sorry for what most of you will prob think is a silly question, but what does the filesystem results actually mean in layman's terms because mine is quite low lol?

I made the test also with Linpack and Milestone win : 4.6 against 3.2

You have to remember that you can't compare cousin by mhz alone. The snap dragon and cortex a8 are made by two different companies. Like amd vs intel, cpus at the same freq have a different performance

I made a thread about this somewhere else, with detailed benchmarks provided by someone else before i got my liquid.

The liquid wins in some areas of CPU and loses in others. Same with graphics if i remember right.

It should also be noted that devices running android 2.0 (aka milestone) will perform better in linpack (according to their website). Once we get a 2.0 or 2.1 ROM for the liquid i expect to see it outperform the milestone benchmarks :)

i think that 2.0 is even heavier than 1,6 but anyway.

From: http://www.greenecomputing.com/linpack.htm

"What speed is better?

A higher number is better. From the Top Devices list, you can see that each device has a certain range that they all come in at. What can effect the number is what else is running on android and the ROM version. It appears that Android 2.0 will also improve performance."
