Samsung i600, wanting to send to a friend in india, will it work there?

Hi all,

I have a friend in india and as I am now getting a blackberry bold I thought id send him my samsung i600 as a gift, it is on pay and go at the moment with orange....

I`m just wondering if it will work for him in india... will I need to unlock the phone to all networks too? as it is currently orange branded..

yep will need unlocking. Fleabay's your best bet, the i607 ( at&t version with no wifi or front camera) used to cost me $5 to unlock.

you get an 8 digit code. quite a complex unlock process on the i607 - never done an i600 - but the vendor usually send a sheet of emailed instructions. You have to change band to auto and other stuff or it will only search for the original network etc.
