Welcome to the club!  I also lost my backup due to corrupted internal storage, and nobody has uploaded the Indian version of 6.1 (xxxxJ3).  I know it is the best rom of 6.1, but I cannot get my hands on it.

Anyone listening?

If you are uncomfortable with winhex and other procedures, you can use this procedure laid down by sorg to backup your rom:

Details are here

What your really need to do is put the dskdump.exe from above mentioned link in your mem card.  Run it, wait for few minutes and you will have a big file of around 300mb in mem card (where you ran this utility).  This will be some rom_dump.bin file.

You can upload this file and this file can easily be converted to flashable format.  Once uploaded I can reconvert it for others to use.

Please PM me if you find it difficult.  All the best.

P.S.:  Please don't flash your phone to any other version till you make a backup of your rom.

Does the need of this mean the upgrades to 6.5 and beyond are not working as expected or causing some major issues?

Upgrades are certainly working, but the requirements RAM of higher version are pretty high, sometime you are left with hardly any usable memory, programs keep closing of their own and everything comes a blissful standstill and then you feel "I was far better off with 6.1", atleast I feel so while running this version with more than 85 mb RAM keeping my phone working flawlessly!
