very broken right now, fix might be coming soon, if I can find time.  if any one has the de-odexed files, could they contact me?

Theming your Pulse v0.36
If you liked this feel free to say thanks or drop round at my deviantArt(http://www.godlikemcx.deviantart.com/) and leave me a comment :)

Requirements: MCR 1.7 Vanilla (this has only be tested on that, but other version may work), ADB, ADB Drivers

Preparing your phone

Step 1
Make a Nandroid backup, better safe then sorry!

Step 2.
Download and install metamorph from the market.

Step 3.
Choose a metamorph theme,  for the purpose of this tutorial, choose this http://ultraespresso...presso-v0.1.zip
note: Many themes don't work, so just try, try and try again.  This one does work, luckily ;)

Step 4.
Now you have the theme, create a new folder in the folder androidthemes on your SD card, and unzip the contents to the new folder.

De-Odexing.
Linux user?  Try this http://android.modac...p...t&p=1229810
Step 1
Download this http://www.asificanr...R-1.7-u8220.rar (you can thank klutsh on the Modaco forums for this)

Step 2
Unzip the folder in to the same folder as ADB

Step 3
Put your phone in recovery mode (hold the menu key and the red button when starting up your phone)

Step 4
Download this BAT file http://android.modac...t...st&id=47436

Step 5
Drag the BAT file in to the folder with the rest of the files you have downloaded and run it -You will be able to tell if this step has worked by the output in the CMD.

Applying the theme!

Step 1
Restart your phone, it might take a bit longer then normal, but that's fine, just leave it, until it starts again.

Step 2
Open Metamorph

Step 3
Press "Existing Theme"

Step 4
Inside the new folder, select "ultra-espresso-v0.1.thm

Step 5
Press framework-res.apk

Step 6
Apply It!

Step 7
Let your phone reboot, and there you have it, as shiny new theme for your pulse!

Making the clock white

Step 1
Download this http://android.modac...t...st&id=49840

Step 2
Get the files in your Android Themes folder

Step 3
Now go in to Metamorph, but this time choose Pulseblk

Step 4
Now this time, instead of going for framework-res choose services.jar

Step 5
Apply this change, reboot, and you'll have the white clock you've always dreamed for :P

Theme The Launcher
You should get this by now, so this is very condensed

Step 1
Get to Metamorph, choose the theme you want, apply launcher.apk

Step 2
Reboot, and enjoy your new launcher!

My modded theme, with some other mods tacked on.  I'll update this later on how to get those.

This should be all correct, but as you can see it's V0.1, so contact me about errors :)

And if this breaks any thing(which is unlikely) it's not my fault, so don't blame me!

That is a fabulous looking theme, and thanks for posting the instructions. I may give that a go a little later.

Why does it take so many complicated steps though? Is Android not designed for "one-touch" theming?

Yeah, it is. It ought to be as easy as Menu->Wallpaper is for setting the wallpaper, right?

It still looks awesome, but my question is sincere; why does it take all those steps?

Does this add anything in terms of functionality? I see, for example that you have new call and contact buttons at the bottom of you homescreen, do these actually work?

No, they don't work, but you won't actually get that in the tutorial, that's a custom launcher.

They do, but I think you need a theme specially made to have a white clock.

Oh I see, are these themes just generic ones? That you can get anywhere that work with metamorph?

Kinda, but from my experience not all themes will work.  It's just a case of trial and error!

I assume a Nandroid backup would be sensible first?

HTC Desire HD + SmartDroid 3.1|1.14.709.2|Sense 3.5|2.3.5|BlueManiacs|RCTweak|T version.
HTC Desire + Runnymede AIO V5.1 Special Edition|1.22.461.2|Sense 3.5|2.3.5|A2SD|Stock HBOOT.
T-Mobile Pulse (UK) + FLB-Mod1 v1.6b + 691MHz oc kernel + a2sd + a2sd swap.

Well, you don't have to Nandroid, I don't, but it might save some potential hassles.
