Guest Arthur Hucksake
Does formatting a previous made goldcard in windows, mean you need to do the goldcard process again? Daft question perhaps. Just recall it being a pain in the arse.

Guest nerdo
Hehe, I ordered from T-Mo in the end, and have one coming tomorrow. :P P I believe some people over at XDA are willing to lend you a device just to make sure you ROOT the Desire :(

(using SanDisk 4Gb that came with the same Desire) Actually found it quite easy to do.. but is there any way to double check I did it right? :-) I got a factory Un-locked Desire.. so no point of flashing any firmware for now

Guest Purplicity
You should be a bit more precise: where exactly do you get that error? I've referred to the instructions here everything works fine, after I enter in the command prompt : cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid I get an error : Permission denied. I tried reflashing the ROM several times& several roms but they all give me error CID, which is probably due to the fact that I couldn't create a gold card. I read once in a forum that the phone has to be in bootloader during entering the command (cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid
