Guest StuMcBill
Sorry if these are stupid questions but I am a newbie to Android. 1. Does this mean that the entire phone has been opened up? And custom recoveries / roms / kernels? Will it now act like a Nexus One with an unlocked bootloader? 2. Will there be a way to remove all custom recoveries / roms / kernels, and go completely back to stock (in case of warranty repair)? I apologise if it is too early to answer these questions or if they are silly. Thanks Stewart

Guest HearThatVoiceAgain
Who knows what's so special about tattoo system partition protection then? Don't know the specifics, just think HTC has increased the level of protection over what they had on Dream/Magic/Hero.

Guest StuMcBill
Looks like he has hit a few snags. HTC are SO trying to spoil our fun with the Legend and Desire. Root = easy. Getting write access to /system, not so much. From what I can work out, some protection is being done in the radio / baseband... But that is only my early findings. Datasheets for the QSD8250 and MSM7227 would really help here! :-/ :( I am sure he will do it, its just a matter of time! :P

Guest RODNiC
I will also be new to android as of Tuesday. Can anyone answer this please? All this has been done with the Hero before.. Just give them time and let the Pros do their job ;) Till then the Desire is a great phone as it is.. just enjoy it!
Guest The_IMF
Just ordered my Desire. Had the option of the X10 or Desire. The X10 does look nicer with a better camera but I don't know when they'll have 2.1 on there and will never have multi touch. I hope this can be rooted soon though! ;)
