**772 for prgraming phone in winmo 6.5 [fixed]

I need to find out what happened to **772 so i can program my phone to metropcs.

I decided i was going to get it exacly like i want it before taking it to do a metroflash (prl).

But when i went there yesterday the guy at the counter couldn't get into **772 to program it.

I know it worked before flashing it, the last thing i want to do is flash it twice again and risk bricking the phone unnecessarily.

I looked through the windows directory to see if i can find the .exe for that menu, but nothing in bw 6.5 wm7 rom.

Maybe he omitted from his rom? If he did can someone one send it to me?

I just went ahead and flashed the stock rom and **772 worked without a hitch, also with samsung pst you can program it directly. I didnt have pst at the time.

Okay so after waiting a while to and reading all over the internet, i have come to a conclusion.

If you need to change your nam settings, the stock rom is the best option.

I was able to get my phone working in less than 30 seconds after the flash.

I am still curious as to how you edit your settings in 6.5.

you don't flash to 6.5 in metro because none of the roms are designed for metro. they are all for verizon.

well like I put on there, nam/debug settings are the most basic part of any cdma phones.

I cant think of a single good reason to removing the capability of changing my phone number just because i have a new rom.

Imagine you have to change your number for one reason or another. Metro supports over the air, but i was not able to.

All i needed to change was the nam and min, that simple.

I have been going on a moto q for a long time time now, my brother too, and a 5800 for a friend.

They are all Verizon roms, but the internet, mms, and everything else works just like any other phone.

Hence your reasoning is flawed, the reason we use a verizon roms is because the sprint roms are locked so tight

you would never be able to get mms and everything fully functional.

Thats why my brothers phone is sprint branded, with a verizon rom.

Heck there is a whole marked in putting phones on networks where they weren't intended.

If people didn't make so much money in this business it would be a lot easier to get information and programs.

But when ever someone finds a way they usually are very secretive.

Either way, if you're into that stuff howard forums is the place to go, now that mobile files is not to be found.

Only problems with howard forums is that everyone is such an ass that it turns people off.

Howards is basically a "look I can smash cans with my forehead" type of forum.

basically before this people would have to use rapid config, or hand edit the registry.

I actually have this phone flashed to metro, and have had it for quite some time. I originally had it flashed on cf03 stock, and i constantly flash it to new custom ROMs without a hitch besides M2D weather front page. You shouldn't have any real issues, besides resetting your network connections, and mms. I luckily have a .cab for you! I found this some time ago.

If for some reason it doesn't install I also have a WEB only version that should get you at least WEB.

Thank you very much, this should help out a lot since the mogul cab doesn't install.

But no I am still trying to edit the internet settings now and i havent been able to yet.

Lately I have been getting a really annoying problem on my q where it gets stuck un evdo,

but metro doesnt carry data over evdo.

I think the moral of this story is that you shouldn't flash to a custom rom.

Unless you make your own.
