Hello everyone!

While i was surfing the net i found this official (and self-installing) ROM.

How to flash (PROCEDURE ONLY FOR XP):

-INSTALL THE DRIVERS IN ATTACHMENT

-Start the esecutable

-Select the CSC for your language (Spanish,Italian,French,Portuguese,German,Dutch,Greek,ENGLISH are ALL included in this rom)

-Connect your phone

-Click "Start Downloading"

-Wait until the phone reboots and configure the selected language

Impressions of this ROM:

-Improved battery life

-Improved phone functions

-Better audio quality

-Camera is still the same..

-Improved speed

-Free ram about 40-50 MB after flashing

And here's the ROM (just unpack and launch): ROM DOWNLOAD

If you want to flash using Windows Vista/Seven,just tell me,i'll post the procedure.

Hope it will be useful,

GOOD FLASHING!

The "color problem" still the same?

You can try installing xnview for picture viewing instead of using the samsung photo app.... xnview is free and seems to perform dithering to remove banding... colors are not an issue with xnview.... I only see horribly wrong colors with the built in samsung photo viewer.... the inaccurate colors issue seems to have been fixed in the JC2 rom's photo app but banding is still present and photos are blocky when rotated... for movie viewing, use coreplayer... sucks that samsung can't fix their own apps....

As I said yesterday, here's the procedure to flash using Vista/7 32 bit. Unfortunately this procedure may not work on 64 bit OS's.

Please note the language of the screenshots are DUTCH. Just use them as a guideline and read carefully.

A GREAT THANK TO ErnstJanF who provided this useful solution.

1) First of all you need the following files: Windows XP ActiveSync Drivers

Unzip the files (e.g. : C:\Users\Bobbie\Downloads\B7610_Tools\XP Drivers)

and remember where you've extracted them

2)First, turn off your phone and connect it to your PC. You will now see a loading battery on the screen of your phone.

Next, go to 'Control Panel' and choose 'Device Management'.

Device Management will open, and you will see your phone, usually named "Samsung MITs USB Sync"

3) We need to change the drivers. Right-click 'Samsung MITs USB Sync', choose 'Update Drivers..'. A new window will open.Just follow the screenshots for some time

4)Next, click OK, followed by OK. Now you will need to click 'Next'.

5)The drivers have been updated. Now we need to set the ROM executable to use Windows XP mode. Right-click the exe file, and click 'Properties'. Go to 'Compatibility' and check 'Windows XP Service Pack 2'.

Now you can flash as you normally would.

NOTE1: THIS PROCEDURE CAN ALSO BE FOLLOWED TO FLASH WITH OCTANS

Hope this will be useful,

The Samsung CDMA modem drivers make your B7610 discoverable by your laptop,so follow this steps.

1)Unzip the drivers and run the executable

2)After drivers installation, turn off the phone.

3)Run the ROM exe and, once selected your CSC,connect the phone to your PC.

If it still doesn't work, just ask,and i'll try to find an alternative solution! :)

Unfortunately, there's no way of flashing a Samsung device on 7 64 bit, but if you want to make an attempt, you can try to follow the procedure i posted in post #14.

Best regards

If yours is a software problem try this Samsung Keypad fixed cab in attachment, otherwise try to follow darthveda's advice,i'm pretty sure that's a CSC issue

I have flashed many embedded devices before but with this phone I must be missing something. I've tried this with XP, windows 7

and I cannot get this to detect my blackjack2. In device manager I see under modems: samsung CDMA Modem,

Under ports I see: Samsung cdma modem dianostic serial port (wdm) (com4)

and under Unversal serial bus controllers I see samsung usb composite device.

What's an alternative solution?

Thank you in advance.

edit: I found the answers in this attachment here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=158010&d=1234836670
