It's big, I want root so hoping for the best from everyone. It's really quick and comes with the 16gb and 32gb on micro sd card.

I assume you mean 16GB on board and you can add 32GB microSD yourself as opposed to it's included?

My model came with a 16gb sd card and 2gb on board. Not sure if it's locked or not just about to ho and watch sex and the city 2 with the misses. So will let people know once I get in.

have you or partner or colleague a non-O2 SIM to try ?

Hi.

I've just chucked in a Vodafone sim to see what happens, and the streak informs me that the phone is Networked locked and asks if i would like to enter a network unlock code.

Clicking cancel allows the device to boot, but without the 3g functionality.  Wifi etc seem to work fine in this mode.

Having just watched a youtube unboxing video, the guy has purchased what CPW have told him is a unlocked Dell Streak. He don't say later in the video what sim card he's using though.

I bought one today too.  The guys in Carephone Warehouse in Cheshire Oaks were raving about it.  The guy in there told me it was locked to O2.

Currently charging it and will set it up and play with it tomorrow.

One thing though, the back cover pops off really easily, I mean I only have to touch it slightly and it moves.  This worries me a little because if you take the back off the device turns off!!!!!

Carphone Warehouse are also selling a screen protector and a folio case for it, which I bought.

It only has 2GB on board storage and It's called the 16GB version as it comes with a 16GB SDHC card it doesn't come with 16GB or 32GB of inbuilt storage. Also glad to see your getting one and can't wait to see what can be done with these once you start playing with it great news indeed IMO.

I'm surprised you bought a screen protector for it as it has Gorilla glass and i have even seen a video on Engadget where they attacked it with a ball point pen really hard without even the tiniest scratch or mark being made I'm not bothering with the screen protector and intend using the micro fibre case until ADVERTISING SPAM release their cases which i have already had confirmed they will be doing via E-Mail.

I must admit I'm a little disappointed that they all seem to be locked to 02 at this point which is why i bought mine from the CPW as thought they only sold Sim free units even when on contract but I'm sure it will be possible to unlock at some point. Now i just want mine to arrive as soon as possible as none of the CPW shops have them in stock near me which is why i bought it direct from CPW by phone hopefully DHL will turn up on Monday with it.

I think most of us thought that the CPW phone would be unlocked that is why so much was made about the identical price to the ipad.

This is what I find strange as O2 Pay as you go is £399 which in essence appears to be the same price point (locked but no contract)

Apparently Dell will be selling direct in about a months time, will be interesting to see at what price and if unlocked. There must have been an exclusivity agreement with 02 to carry this phone.

Surprised CPW agreed to sell it without a contract with it NOT sim-free.

I did pay £429 for it but I got my accessories for half price so not particularly bothered.

I made the mistake of going to look at one at the carphonewarehouse really want it now...... The model they had out was shagged, the manager had screwed it into the anti theft frame to tight.

I need to see if Paul get's a unlock code sorted for this now.

I also have someone who works high up in CPW trying to get me a unlock code on Monday from her contacts.

Seriously solid looking sexy device though.....

I spoke to a guy in O2 shop today. He said that they will not provide an unlock code for this phone atm, cause it's a new and exclusive to O2 only.
Will wait to hear result from Paul. I couldnt get on with O2 plans
