I've just chucked in a Vodafone sim to see what happens, and the streak informs me that the phone is Networked locked and asks if i would like to enter a network unlock code. Clicking cancel allows the device to boot, but without the 3g functionality. Wifi etc seem to work fine in this mode. Having just watched a youtube unboxing video, the guy has purchased what CPW have told him is a unlocked Dell Streak. He don't say later in the video what sim card he's using though. The guy in there told me it was locked to O2. Currently charging it and will set it up and play with it tomorrow. One thing though, the back cover pops off really easily, I mean I only have to touch it slightly and it moves. This worries me a little because if you take the back off the device turns off!!!!! Also glad to see your getting one and can't wait to see what can be done with these once you start playing with it great news indeed IMO. @snpg I'm surprised you bought a screen protector for it as it has Gorilla glass and i have even seen a video on Engadget where they attacked it with a ball point pen really hard without even the tiniest scratch or mark being made I'm not bothering with the screen protector and intend using the micro fibre case until ADVERTISING SPAM release their cases which i have already had confirmed they will be doing via E-Mail. @all I must admit I'm a little disappointed that they all seem to be locked to 02 at this point which is why i bought mine from the CPW as thought they only sold Sim free units even when on contract but I'm sure it will be possible to unlock at some point. Now i just want mine to arrive as soon as possible as none of the CPW shops have them in stock near me which is why i bought it direct from CPW by phone hopefully DHL will turn up on Monday with it. I made the mistake of going to look at one at the carphonewarehouse :( really want it now...... The model they had out was shagged, the manager had screwed it into the anti theft frame to tight. I need to see if Paul get's a unlock code sorted for this now. I also have someone who works high up in CPW trying to get me a unlock code on Monday from her contacts. He said that they will not provide an unlock code for this phone atm, cause it's a new and exclusive to O2 only. Will wait to hear result from Paul. Guest Dogmann55 Posted June 6, 2010 Report Share Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) Hi all, Well although i bought mine from CPW i was in an 02 shop yesterday as tried to get one faster and then cancel my initial order unfortunately because i had just got my first 02 contract on Thursday for the Streak they wanted a £150 deposit to 02 for a second one and couldn't speak to anyone to explain so i left it as no way was i going to that. Anyway what i was told was that all Streaks are locked to 02 irrespective or where they come from and i was told this is going to include even the Streaks that will come from Dell direct, 02 quite simply have the exclusive rights to sell them in the UK.
