I'd suggest you don't if you can't figure out how to use them. Please don't take offence, but you can potentially break your phone if you don't know what you're doing. The tools are tricky to use and when things goes wrong, then you might be stuffed.

The 10E release is dated June 01 and installed just fine with KDZ updater. Can't say I noticed any huge changes.

Your call then. To get the KDZ updater to work you need to run the Windows Enabler utility first which allows you to click on the greyed out buttons.
Load the KDZ file, select 3GQCT in the top drop down box and then press the large button with all the question marks. Then wait and the handset should start up in emergency mode and the flashing should start. Wait until it's done and that's pretty much it, unless something goes wrong.

And you need that for what exactly? This thread is about upgrading the firmware and not about some other utilities. Most of the stuff in that RAR file isn't related to the GT540 as the tools work for a wide range of handsets from LG.

got a strange feeling your AMSS baseband, the radio rom part, is different to what myself and Ev1lM0nk3y have.

under 3845#*540# version info, my baseband version is AMSS47354005

scanned through 4pda.ru forum and forum.android.com.pl, added V10C Open Polish rom

found Australia and United Kingdom V10A rom updates

Nope, exactly the same AMSS47354005...

Also, the Orange firmware worked just fine so...
It seems like I need a WParam of 4 and an LParam of 0 for the firmwares to install, any ideas if these modifiers can be changed?
Can't use the KP500 utilities to flash with either as they stop at 4% and complain about communication error with the handset...
