As i have repeatedly posted on XDA and Modaco, i have a broken trackpad (HTC Desire) so can't use recovery. I noticed in 2.0.0.3 that Koush tested the possibility of using power to confirm instead of the trackpad although no functions worked. Also using 2.0.1.4 through Rom Manager all functions seem to work including backing up ext3. Great.

So i took the file "recovery" from 2.0.0.3 and replaced the one in 2.0.1.4 and resigned the recovery. It booted and it actually let me wipe everything other than sdext. However i was still able to successfully flash Modaco's MCR Froyo r18 and r19 which had previously through rom manager only gotten as far as the white HTC screen. Upon flashing though as it can't mount ext it didn't wipe it.

Not a huge problem now as i have done what i needed to do but i would have a fully functioning recovery if i could just fix the ext problem. I'm guessing it is something to do with the "recovery" file as that is all i have replaced and it worked previously.

Does anyone have any ideas or can help fix it? I'm almost there!

Was this using Paul's method, fake-flash, or UnrEVOked?

Just fake-flash. I feel i'm really close to a working solution for myself. I think koush is too busy to help so i have to go it alone lol.

Try using unrevoked as that now uses the latest version of clockworkmod (2.0.1.8).

Yeah but unless 2.0.1.8 has support for power button to select it's totally useless to me to flash a permanent recovery that i can't use. Due to said broken trackpad.

Why does unrevoked have 2.0.1.8 when Rom Manager only has 2.0.1.4? Is koush already forgetting about the paying users of Rom Manager?

Still no luck with this. Its the last step is fixing the ext problem. I really want this to work!

Yeah but he never replys he must be sick of me going on about it. Its my own fault I'm in this situation but I just want a work around. Ahmgsk said he would do it for me to his recovery but now his twitter says everything's on hold while he looks for a job.

I'm just so close yet probably so far. 2.0.0.3 never even loaded SD card. Merges with 2.0.1.4 it can load SD but still not ext. I suppose I got a solution partially for now but I'm jealous of all you with full working recoveries.
