Hi Everyone,

I have one small question;

I have rooted my HTC desire a while ago, many thx to Modaco for this, but now there is an update available. i currently have software number 1.15.104.4 and i have the possibility to upgrade to 1.21.405.2 . Can i do this with my phone rooted? Will i loose apps2sd and PaidAppsAnabler? The 2 reasons why i rooted my phone... And, if the rumours are true, will i be able to install Android 2.2?

Thx in advance,

Stijn

there are modaco roms of versions up to 1.21, use any of them to upgrade your device. also, you may use froyo roms as well, if you like.

though, you may lose your /data partition and all downloaded programs, titanium backup might help.

What is the update actually delivering? I rejected it as I was rooted with aps2sd.

Speed improvement?

New widgets?

Battery life improvement?

any nifty features?

Also similar question about android 2.2 is it worth the trouble upgrading?

there are many different updates, some deliver speed, some deliver battery life, some deliver new features. there are also ROM kitchens, where you may cook update with any features you need and skip those you don't like. please, read explanation on the download page and see for yourself.

Thanks for the reply amigo :-)

I'm already on a custom ROM {paul's original rooted ROM). I was more thinking that given renewing settings etc takes time {much less thanks to titanium) I like to know what's to be gained by going through the process! I did look at the custom cooker. Might give it a shot.

Anyone got any recommendations? And is there a point in moving between android 2.1 and 2.2? From what I've read there are some speed optimisations. What are people's thoughts/experiences?
