Have just received the galaxy s and the lash is driving me mad! I'm quite willing to try a custom rom to address this but need to know I can restore the phone to EXACTLY as it is now. What problems am I likely to experience in doing this and will I be able to return the rom and radio to exactly as I have it now?

Uk model unbranded and sim free if that helps?

FW I9000XXJF3 KERNEL 2.6.29

Thanks.

Anybody please?

I'm itching to upgrade firmware but in the event that the phone has to be returned I need to be confident there will be no issue.

So again, can I return the state of the galaxy to exactly as it is now following a flash?

I believe you can reflash an older ROM on top so you should be ok providing you have the original ROM. Not sure if Samsung is able to tell that the firmware has been flashed some other way though?

Does reflashing invalidate warranty?

That's my problem, finding the right firmware as above. Doesn't seem to be available a anywhere that I can find. Without being able to test a custom rom I can't experience the galaxy without the lag and there's a good chance I'll be sending it back because of it.

Seems a shame because aside from the size and lack of flash I think the galaxy is probably three best phone out there currently.
