Heard it from some other websites,

This method is really simple, without any complicated stuff :D

Just install the app and have a click is all right!

Optimized One:(This one is developed by a guy come from Taiwan, so the website is Chinese) http://blog.23corner.com/2010/08/04/%E5%A4...iversalandroot/

What's the point of rooting ?

We can't enable swap, tethering, most things are just impossible, or harder (installation another ROM) than with flashing an alternate recovery

That happens on our Liquid, so we are quite lucky :D

But this one just provide an alternate way for the new comers of different Android phones to use(Some of them)

Maybe they just want to root their phone? (That's it? :) )

may be spyware?

From the information I knew, it's written by a Taiwan guy

And quite a number of people already tested on it with different phones.

According to their reply, some of the phones works normal but some of them are not :D

There's a list of working devices and not working devices in the developer's blog. You may have a look on it(Although it's Chinese)

After all, is it a spyware or not, I am not really sure on this. :)

hi

In france for the 1st April 2010 we had an app like this. It was an April's fool. When we tape on "root" we saw a droid fishing.

So i don't know if it's a joke but it's similar :)

i won't try your app

Maybe...But I want to said one thing: This app was mentioned on Engadget Chinese version (Doesn't a matter actually :) )

I think I will trust those guys(Included the editor, those people who claimed already tested it and the developer).... :D

This method is pretty useless practically, because we have unlocked fastboot in our Liquids. It's a scary exploit that I do not want to see in an app. Unless it exploits and they flashes recovery, it's pretty much useless.

OMG he opensourced it.

What's the kernel patch for this?

Edit: tweeting Cyanogen. This app scares me a little.

You are right, and Google may release a patch or something to fix this "bug"

May not work in the future, but at this moment, Just want to share, that's it :)

Hi,

I dont want to offence anybody at all but,

Each time an unknown android dev is sharing a software, then it is almost as if he was the most dangerous hacker of the world...

Android an open source os, whats the matter if he respects the deal by sharing sources???

Please answer, i don t get angry at all, just not understanding these comments.

That's my original purpose of publishing this post, I just want to share a method for others (They may find out it's useful, who knows? :D )

You may just have a look on it, and leave it alone, it's all right~ :)

Hi!

So after my post about April's fool, i wanted to test it.

And now, i can say: it works great on bin 1.100.39, 1.100.09 and 1.100.63.

That's an excelent app. :)

It's a root exploit. He made it easy for anyone to make an app that gains full access to your phone, really.

Am I wrong if I say that exploits are sometimes needed to unlock this or that fonctionnality? When i want to use a root method, i want to get the choice of it. Not only 1. It makes me feel more confident :)

By the way, I ve checked on the website, and it seems that the sources are no longer available. i ve done a google traduction on the explaination, but i m not sure it s correct or not, so i won t post it. But i think i understood most of.

Good.

Is android loosing it s opened-source spirit? What is the difference with others?

So people can have another way to root their phone,if that is the only purpose they want .(To get root acess )

A custom recovery is also fantastic to have, which provide more functions and can be more useful to them :)

Our liquid aren't locked at all.. using such a hack is just overkill...

I am sorry, but still disagree. The device itself isnt locked, true. But his way to get su works, and he shared the source. of course some silly guys could use these for bad things, did he do? Does it contains any malware or so? From what I know, it s based of what has been posted on XDA.

I am quite still convinced that each program build from modified source, includes a risk for our privacy, especially when the new sources are not shared. And it is quite far from the open source "spirit" has been dedicated for. But that s my own opinion.

In a forum, we discuss different topics and express our ideas, so we 'll need to respect each other's opinion, so just fell easy to different comments :)

Well Google has patched it. So we can expect a fix for our devices soon. It's a matter of updating it.

As I mentioned before, once Google patch an update, this method will lose its function
