Hi all, Looking to buy this phone and i am a bit put off by reviewers stating the screen is not that good

I have the Pulse mini, its a 2.8 inch screen and the screen is not good, Upon looking at the specs, the HTC Wildfire has the same resolution of the Pulse mini!

...Mmmm, I hope im mistaken! Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

I came from a T-Mobile Pulse (not the mini) and it was a bit of a shock to go to a lower resolution. Everything looked ugly, the screen is cramped when you have the keyboard and your contacts open etc. But it is smooth as butter, rarely lags, has great battery life and with the right wallpaper you can almost ignore that low resolution. Because that screen is the one complaint I have with the phone and I can't complain at the price I got it.

no it's actually decent enough for normal use.

Just don't go and play youtube movies on it, in that case the low resolution sticks out big time.

You can play utube stuff fine as long as u select the HD option before loading them.. i do agree that in normal mode they break up, i play mpeg4 on mine and they all look good

I looked at a Wildfire before buying an LGgt540 instead ... as far as I'm concerned the Wildfire's screen resolution is rubbish, and plenty apps wont work on it either due to the low resolution. The store guy ran the same two clips from You Tube on both phones, and the Wildfire was pretty crap to put it mildly.

It seems a bit of a con some stores marketing it as the "mini desire" when its nothing like the desire in terms of specs and that great screen (at least on the amoled desire). For me, the Wildfire is a bit of a con, unless they drop it way down in price to what it should be, maybe £120 or so in the UK instead of being over £200 - which it definitely is not worth, even with the 5MP camera which isnt that good either.
