2.1 Bugs .....

Random shutdowns

Individual contact shortcuts on home screen all change to "contacts" icons after power off

Voice dial no longer confirms activation with "say command" and doesn't give audible confirmation of contact selected

Wired headset is still as unreliable as with 1.6 ie; 9 times out of ten the mic doesn't work, press the button once to answer call and got to press again for mic to work. Also, i've always started a call then pressed the power button to turn off the screen while using the headset, with 2.1 pressing the power button now ends the call

Facebook contacts not syncing

While not actually crashing my Streak the music app really has trouble scrolling the artists.

If the screen button does end the call when pressed I personally hope that stays - as coming from an Iphone I've regularly pressed that button thinking my call would end.

Noticed that the volume up/down buttons don't change with screen orientation anymore, doubt this is actually a bug, because the up button has physically always had the raised part on it so keeping up/down no matter the orientation seems about right, just getting used to it again.

The keyboard...ahh, Dell and it's keyboards. Well, it's nice and centralized, I'm on of the I think many who are glad to see the numberpad being gone, but it just doesn't seem to register pressed very easily. To type, and to type without looking completely illiterate it's a chore. But in portrait, it seems a lot better, so I think it really is just the fact that once again the landscape keyboard needs more work.

While being fundamentally smoother, transfering between sapps and from homescreen to an app I see a bit of jittering, it just looks like a bit of improvement to smooth that over is needed.

no bugs with music player here...

there s no nuance voice any more, thats why you don't get audio response to queries.

try vlingo if you want that, its now free( and also has a version of the android keyboard)

cursor works in text boxes just not in password ones

facebook contacts sync after updating to latest facebook from market, and setting up facebook in the accounts and sync.

Anyone lost support for wma music files. My files still exist on sd card but my streak does not recognise them. They do not appear in music app or play if i select them by some other method.

Screen doesn't always go dark when I suspend it.

Same for when I plug it into a charger.

WiFi doesn't fully recover randomly after suspend requiring a restart.

Suspend sometimes fails.

My background data sync icon (next to the wifi/signal icon) is now on continuously, rather than just when something syncing as on 1.6.

Bluetooth pegs the cpu at 100% on startup until killed.

Battery usage is still quite high, killing off bluetooth (above) helps loads and explains part of it but im still doing a charge a day on standard usage, before it was every other day. I reckon this could just be because its prerelease though, will hold my breath for final :D

Overall, i like 2.1, its a great improvement. Well done dell so far, despite a few naggling issues, i love my streak :D

Now, if only dell would open up a proper beta for this, all these items could be proper bug reports!! Lol

randomly the bottom most row of the hideous new keyboard will stop responding to touch when replying to text message, weirdly hitting the off button, un-locking and returning fixes it, please bring back num pad option or at least some cursor left|right keys!

Long time reader but never registered (bad I know, Hello now)

The only issue I have experienced since going to 2.1 is that I am unable to get the screen back on following a call and cannot find the option to stop it blanking out.

Anyone seeing the messages unable to drop/increase CPU voltage (vdd ) every second in the logs? suspect this might be why the battery life is so poor, though it is correctly scaling the cpu speed - it's not scaling down the voltage to match... Can't help having to write to the logs constantly either!

Likewise I have this issue too.

Random crashes (well quit with no error) on the browser sometimes (generally, far better than in 1.6 though)

Interesting. Battery life is really poor. Where do you see these messages and where are the logs? I would like to have a look myself.

Phone calls still difficult to dis-connect ala 1.6. screen vanishes whilst in call and unable to dis-connect call

Also locked phone up after call ended

I wonder if its using same kernel as the 1.6, certainly the kernel version is listed as the same.

the 1.6 also had a load of debugging stuff enabled..

My battery, whilst slightly worse than 1.6, will still be slightly less than 50% after 10 hours constant playing on Spotify local files. 3G and WiFi disabled, and the com.bluetooth.share or whatever is disabled using a startup manager.

tbh I've not noticed any serious battery drop, I run light at about backlight 30% most of the time, and charge it about the same as usual..

bluetooth share hasn't flagged up a warning in Watchdog lite (great app btw, it just monitors cpu usage of background apps then warns you if they've gone over a defined limit)

B S has sat at 0.0 for 14hours, 5 min 0 sec and consumes 9.9mb of ram.. I've used bluetooth (audio) for about 2.5 hours today

wifi has killed battery this evening I went from 60% to 20% in a couple of hours of reading webstuff, chatting and playing youtube vids to my kids (so screen on quite a lot as well) don't consider that too bad.

anyone else experience the problem where the screen doesnt turn off at all? when you press power off it seems like its just the screen back lights turn off but not the screen itself.

I've seen this happen both ways... tried to bring it out of standby and the LCD turned on but no backlight, I could see the clock on LCD display however.

In the opposite manner, I've tried to put it into sleep and the backlight + screen has remained on, but the lockscreen has come up on the screen and I assume the system has 'slept' as the live wallpaper stops animating.

Somewhat strange both of these, to say the least!

Yesterday co-pilot wouldnt work for me, it keeps saying there are no maps installed. I was using it fine, then left it on charge in my car for 2 hours came back and suddenly it gave me that error! Wheather this has anything to do with 2.1 or not i dont know, but i thought id mention it in here in case anyone else has experienced it.

Also sometimes it takes co=pilot a few goes to start up properly, it just keep closing after it shows the splash screen.

The Streak is hands down the worst phone experience ive ever had. Whether its to do with Dell, Android, Rebelsim or whatever, i've never had this much trouble with a phone before. I'm not blaming anyone, but I thought id just put it out there for the record, to see if anhyone is experiencing the same thing
