New Gameloft android policy

Hi all,

Just want to let you know that I've spoken to someone in Gameloft today in regards to their unfair download policy (redownload within 90 days on the same handset and number).

And it looks like they have changed their policy for the better. See their reply below.

My name is Roman at Gameloft Customer Care. I am happy to assist you. I want to thank you for your patience as you awaited a resolution to the issue you reported. If after reading this email you require more assistance, please do not hesitate to reply back to this email with your questions or concerns.

Gameloft's policy is that if you buy a game, you can re-download it on THE SAME DEVICE with THE SAME PHONE NUMBER within the 3 years of your purchase. To re-download your game, go to http://gameloft.com on your mobile and click on the 'My Downloads' link at the bottom of the page. You will see the list of all the games you purchased so far that you can re-download. If you purchased your game on our website on your pc using your credit card, enter the 'My Account' section at the top of this page and re-download your game(s) after signing in.

If you change the handset, you will not be able to redownload the game automatically. In such a case, please, write to me and I will send you the link manually for your new handset!

They will update their FAQ to reflect the changes.

Short of android market, it's the best outcome for now.

It's always good to have support of one of the best mobile game company out there.

I think if we show them that the android platform can be profitable, more game company will jump on board.
