The same way as when the FRF91 update came out: let Android start to apply the update. It will reboot, fail, and after that it won't

bug you again.

Hi all,

I have the same situation:

Android 2.2

MoDaCo Custom ROM r21 for the Google Nexus One (FRF91)

I received the OTA for 2.2.1. I tap on Reboot and Install. It fails with something about signature.

But here comes the problem, as soon as the phone reboots it tries to download it again.

If I go, as quickly as I can, to Settings|About the Phone|System Updates, what I see is the update being downloaded, and no checkbox or any other action I can take.

When the update finishes, I am back to square 1

How can I get rid of the update and/or the notification?

Thanks in advance.

Can you prevent the download somehow? Turn off WiFi, leave the access point area, remove the SIM card (if you have an old one that was disabled by the carrier, that works too), etc. Let's see the phone trying to download anything then. That should give you enough time to disable the OTA.

HTH,

I did all that, wifi off, SIM card out. No use. Still same thing, the updates screen says "Downloading" and no action I can take.
